phrunt
I'm surprised they don't give dealers a machine to try and demo? It's hard to sell something and speak honestly about it without ever using it. 4 Link to comment https://www.detectorprospector.com/topic/19137-nokta-gold-finder-2000-update/page/2/#findComment-203622 Share on other sites

I expect performance would be similar to other Nokta/Makro 61 kHz models like the Gold Kruzer. But mainly I think we have reached the point with dedicated single high frequency nugget hunters that it's all pretty ho hum, same half dozen or the other type stuff. The tech is rather well beat to death now. What I'm more interested in is a multi made 100% for nugget detecting. Look how well the Equinox does on gold as a multipurpose detector, and almost as an accident at that. I can only imagine a Multi-IQ detector made specifically for nugget detecting from the ground up. Or the Nokta version of what they have with Legend, but again, nuggets only. I do think single frequency is in effect obsolete at this point. Not that it does not work, just that the future is elsewhere. Well I am a new owner of one after I succumbed to many hours of Gerry's high pressures sales pitch and electronic thumbscrews!!! ? Seriously-- i have done the Monster in WA~~~~~~~ and i gave it to the Taskmaster-- I love to test them out---- I will take the F19 over with me too,,,, although the 5000 is my go to --it is the first PI i finally connected with and feel confident in. In those super trashy areas I want to see how these two detectors do there. Now all i have to do is get there-- the "Blame it on Covid excuse" popped up again when i talked with immi about my Australian Visa-- ( i thought i would have it by now-- my last 3 only took a week) what an easy way to explain away incompetence. Never the less i will be there when i get there-- now off to cancel flights and rearrange ... Its all good--- at least I have another detector to either have fun with or throw underneath the backhoe as she goes by... hahahahahahaha 3 3 Link to comment https://www.detectorprospector.com/topic/19137-nokta-gold-finder-2000-update/page/2/#findComment-203644 Share on other sites
Bohemia Miner
I have a Demo model that I was hoping to take to California with me earlier in the year. I was going to hit the Redding area on the way down and the Mojave Desert after the Pomona California GPAA Gold Show. The show got moved to July so the trip got canceled. I don't want to be in either place in July! I'm thinking about reaching out to Ray Mills and seeing if he wants to go on a hunt so I can test it (possibly in January). I almost thought about letting him try it for a while and giving it a review. Next year I will be going to Eastern Oregon and the Mill City Nevada area. That should give it a good run! 2 Link to comment https://www.detectorprospector.com/topic/19137-nokta-gold-finder-2000-update/page/2/#findComment-222183 Share on other sites
goldsak
Nokia macro gold finder 2000, well I got one second hand for $500 new in the box because the previous owner had no faith in it! Well well did this machine perform for me, I was out with my gold monster 1000 and found a piece that triggered my new patch after cleaning up with the gold monster 1000 then my next detector an equinox 800 using 11inch and 15inch coils I declared the spot flogged I recovered half an ounce roughly, I decided that as my Nokta makro gold finder 2000 was sitting in the cupboard in brand spanking new condition I'd at least give it a fair chance to see if it could find the stuff minelabs couldn't find! And wow o wow the goldfinder cleaned up another ounce of specimens that the both minelabs did not register on so for me that patch paid for the Nokta macro gold finder 2000 over and over! The gold just has to be there for it to find and it will I'm very impressed with its performance and it goes on ever trip now! Well worth buying one! It's not a gimmick and the discrimination on it is very accurate gold is all the way to the right from one bar to all bars accordingly and won't go left at all! Have a little faith I say! Best of luck and hope you like my story thanks for reading. 4 Link to comment https://www.detectorprospector.com/topic/19137-nokta-gold-finder-2000-update/page/2/#findComment-286007 Share on other sites
Steve Herschbach
Welcome to the forum goldsak, and thank you for the positive feedback on the Gold Finder 2000. Since this thread is over two years old this is also worth mentioning: Link to comment https://www.detectorprospector.com/topic/19137-nokta-gold-finder-2000-update/page/2/#findComment-286020 Share on other sites
Ridge Runner
Sorry guys as of Oct 21 2024 the Gold Finder 2000 has been discontinued. The lowest price I’ve seen is 538.00 on Amazon and some others for the same. Gerry in Idaho
OK, I'll nibble.... But I'm not going to swallow. Congrats goldsak for having success with the GF 2000. I have grabbed a few different detectors and went back over same areas with a little more Success. You could be 100% accurate and I hope so. I do find it odd someone new to DP forum comes on and their 1st post is talking up a detector most on here don't worry about and then comparing it to well known productive models. 3rd is the lack of the success pics which is really interesting. Owning a GM-1000 and Equinox tells me you should know their capabilities and especially if you found over an ounce of gold with them. But key word specimens and the fact the coil size selection you used is not traditional to most Equinox Prospectors, I wonder why? Are the additional "over an ounce of specimens" larger ones or are they smaller bits? Hopefully we see you on here posting more often and sharing your knowledge and success. You already owning the GM-1000 and Equinox and digging half an ounce of gold with those detectors proves you are on some rich ground and have a great understanding of them Minelab units. Just that alone is worthy of you sharing the knowledge with newer folks coming into the hobby. And getting 3X that amount at the flogged site with an GF 2000 is tops in my books and I'd love to learn and see more. Keep it up and we all look forward to seeing/hearing updates. On a side note, pics can really help. If this post seems a little skeptical and needs removed, have at it. 3 Link to comment https://www.detectorprospector.com/topic/19137-nokta-gold-finder-2000-update/page/2/#findComment-286037 Share on other sites
