  1. Is that 540 U.S. dollars or Australian for the 18" CC coil ?
  2. Everyone deserves a break....looking forward to his return , his post and pictures..
  3. Nice to hear some updates on X-Coils for the GPX end users....Thanks !
  4. JRbeatty, I had the 18" Coiltek elite and tried using it in "normal" and have found it to be to unstable especially to hear those deep faith signals. Typically I run al my mono coils in " general" and "enhance" setting for the typical medium ground here in California. This is why I am interested in the CC coil..It appears much lighter in weight, and with time as we see more out in the field we will get more reports on its performance. Thanks for the updates.
  5. Hey jrbeatty , Have you had the time to take out the 18" Detech....whats the verdict...?
  6. Just to prove I never win anything in contests....add my name.😁
  7. "Boot of Cortez" Nugget was found with a cheap Radio Shack detector !!
  8. Phrunt Thanks for the update , good to hear he is busy and I totally understand focusing on the the gpz coils first. I will be looking forward to trying out one of the gpx X-coils. I have way to many old patches that need to be awoken again...I've tried all the others including the Nuggetfinder Evos, Elites and Commander coils.
  9. A lot been said about these x coils when it comes to the zed...but in the beginning there was mention of new improved depth with x coils for the gpx users. As a gpx user and I am probably speaking for many...any news on the performance and availability of these coils. I know I am not letting go of my 4500 anytime soon...
  10. Hmm interesting, please keep us updated on this one.
  11. I enjoy detecting because it takes me places I otherwise would not go...its the silence and solitude, the only noise is the rustling of grasses by sudden burst of quail or other animals when you suddenly come up on them. I just think theirs way to much noise, be it people, politics plastered on television, and other stresses of life. Metal detecting/nugget hunting takes you away form it all. IMHO I think new blood (young folk) are awakening to the benefits of the outdoors, some choose other activities to do..but we all seek the same thing. Peace and perhaps some gold. I don't think the spirit of adventure has died with new generations..its growing.
  12. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/IQ_imbalance Its all mumbojumbo to me ..but maybe to some of you electronic wizards it makes sense. And just by chance maybe a little insight on the technology coming in this new detector.
  13. A few others have sold who were secret testers here in the States..was wondering why would they sell unless they have inside info or are testing a new product. Sell the zed while the price is stable...in my opinion its smart to do. All speculation , but its fun to do and no one gets hurt. And you know many of the zed users will upgrade once the new one comes out there will be many zeds available with a much lower price, combine it with an x-coil and its time to upgrade for some of us gpx'ers!!!
  14. Just squeeze as much juice out of the lemon you all ready have.....if it means getting a new X-Coil....or even a mod...keep on squeezing.
  15. You would be surprised how low they pay..they are primarily looking for crystalline gold and will pay anywhere between spot plus half to 6 x spot depending on weight and condition. On gold nuggets..well size does matter..but dont expect much and realize high end mineral dealers are into making a profit..and it's a business for them.
  16. awesome good job on saving these creatures..
  17. Agreed, but in some conditions especially ones with extreme trash new technologies may be more helpful in picking out the good targets from digging out iron all day. I love my Minelab 4500 P.I. but all the spots I hunt now are literally full of iron..sometimes you just want to cheery pick the non ferrous. If the Tarsacci does a better job of it than other MD available I am willing to at least give it my ear.
  18. Great story and nice nuggets, hope it turns out better next time.
  19. Think he was the editor of some Treasure magazine...think I have a bunch stored in some boxes. Makes great reading, amazing the stuff they found back in the early days of metal detecting.
  20. Norvic, yup if I cannot find the hydroF. I will go with Wink...it will just take longer ..I want to expose more gold and leave a nice base on bottom.
  21. I think you are right, looking for someone now...I really want to see what's inside.
  22. Lunk, Interesting ! I read that somewhere but didn't understand it , thought I had to get a special container with centimeters lines and than had to count the small lines to figure out the volume displaced. Actually this formula seems more accurate...thanks a bunch....I have sure learned a lot ..appreciate all the input from you all.
