  1. Let us know what you think of it...heard some great reviews on this product. Which detector are you using it with?
  2. Great point Luke.....I will give baking soda and hydrogen peroxide a try... and no you can't have the Elite back..... :)
  3. Thanks goldseeker, I will check out your article. I have been using wink on some pieces. Usually all I use is some water and soft toothbrush to clean the pieces.
  4. Jin, sell your gold on EBay. Ask spot plus, shipping cost and eBay fees. 16 gram solid nuggets can fetch you a lot more ... you just have to find a buyer. Otherwise take some pics and post it on all the forums....and asking price. Good luck!
  5. Skate, Being a former citizen of Ventura County, I used to go to the East Fork of the San Gabriel mountains....I detected the gullies and gulches that fed the East Fork, I had some success finding nuggets, none larger than a pennyweight or so. The next place to research is the Goler Gulch area around Mojave , all the way down to Baker area. You may want to visit Pat Keene at his shop and ask some questions also.To shorten you learning curve..join a good club like the Orange county 49ers, they have some good claims . Like some have mentioned its extremely difficult to find gold with a detector....very few places have sizable gold. Good luck out there...hope you find your first nugget very soon.
  6. Brian, Good observation....Californians fires opened up some new ground.. :) long hikes but well worth it.
  7. Hey Rick I don't doubt that at all...the ability of the gpz to sniff out that deeper gold is obvious. Way to many owners are are two thumbs up on this detector...But I did't do to bad this week....even with the 4500. Take care and good hunting!
  8. If your ever in the area of Murphy's , California its worth a trip to the Ironstone Winery. They have some incredible specimens on display including many for sale in the huge gift shop. Pretty good wine too..lots to see.
  9. Blessed to live in the Mother Lode of California...
  10. Ahhh , now that is a nugget !!! Thanks for sharing it with us.
  11. Welcome B.H. , which beaches do you hunt down in S. California?
  12. Any gold is good gold.....looking at the size , someone has some good detecting skills.
  13. Looks like the 18" Elite gets the small stuff, went out today for 3 hours and scored this little bit.... 3.85 grains at 3 inches. This coil is easy to pin point ...and impressed at the depth...also dug some deeper targets in areas I would say void of any targets. I am really enjoying this coil..Coiltek did a great job !
  14. Last few years I have been working a nice stretch of land with many small creeks and tribs feeding them. The primary large ones apparently are the ones that the early miners worked and the ones I have focused on. I would work the banks, tailing piles and pretty much clear any targets out of the way. Over the years I have cleared sections of trash and gold that stretch up to a half a mile long along the creeks. I have basically cleaned it up pretty good. I still have miles of creeks to clean up downstream of these creeks that are littered with tailing piles. But before i do that I wanted to purchase a larger coil to hit some spots that I cleaned up. Thanks to Luke I am now a proud owner of the 18" Elite that I am taking out his morning to hit some of those areas I cleaned up. Hopefully there are some deep ones lurking ... Friday Morning : Today was the day....was working a bench way above the present creek and after an hour in a spot I been with other coils multiple times , the 18" elite groaned with a nice sharp deep tone...digging down about 15 inches out came this nice little 4.27 gram placer nugget. Outside of it being a bit heavy...the coil is extremely stable in medium ground, I was running it hot 14 gain, stab 8, enhanced mode, the 4500 purrred like a kitty. I've dug some deep targets ...the key with these large coils is to go very, very slow and use a bungee support system...found I could swing this 5 hours without to much discomfort. Overall I am very happy with the Elite! Thanks again Luke!
  15. http://www.diggerdownunder.com.au/ Nice web design !!
  16. Wow nice pictures !! Mitchel that's my home turf......plenty of good diving at Point Dume..
  17. I have been wondering why the Goldhounds have not done a video of their adventures in the Outback for a while.
