Steve Didn't Get It All In Reno Parks!
Sourdough Scott replied to mn90403's topic in Minelab Equinox Forum
You should have hit me up when I'm the Graeagle area. I'd would have bought you lunch. -
Wow, sorry to hear this. Not much worse than a Meth head.

Care To Share Your 7000 Settings?
Sourdough Scott replied to mn90403's topic in Minelab Metal Detectors
I just sometimes sit back and think of I'm missing some deeper targets because of what settings I don't run. I 99% of the time run.... High Yield Difficult Sensitivity 16 or so Low smoothing Semi Auto GB I just like a quiet machine. Maybe I need to break out of my comfort zone ? -

Not sure why the event was cancelled. But they are having a children's detector hunt this September. -

Latest Thoughts On SDC Aftermarket Coils?

If I recall correctly, the coiltek Sadie coil for the gpx series was waterproof. You think for a waterproof SDC, they would have engineered a waterproof coil. SMH? -
If Your WM12 Is Getting Slow To Charge
Sourdough Scott replied to phoenix's topic in Minelab Metal Detectors
Has anyone here tried taking the unit to a Batteries Plus store. I have them replace all of my lithium batteries for my cordless power tools. They are better batteries than factory when I get them back. I will have to ask them next time I go into Reno. https://www.batteriesplus.com/ -
Latest Thoughts On SDC Aftermarket Coils?
Sourdough Scott replied to Sourdough Scott's topic in Minelab Metal Detectors
I just spoke with Todd. He said the 10x5 elliptical was the hot ticket for him. Very sensitive. He didn't really like the 14x9 elliptical, not sensitive enough on the small gold. He didn't get the 11 inch round. So no feedback there. -
I just got a screaming deal on a SDC 2300. So just inquiring if anyone has any more experiences with the aftermarket coiltek coils? I'm seriously thinking about getting some to make the SDC a patch hunting machine.

Do You Have A Four Legged Prospecting Buddy?
Sourdough Scott replied to Steve Herschbach's topic in Detector Prospector Forum
This is about the finest detecting dog around. Rooster is his name. He is my eyes and ears when my head is down concentrating on signals. He never strays far at all. He works for jerky, ham sammichs, and water. And even the grumpiest prospector I know, the infamous Klunker, even let's him ride in the front seat. ??⛏️ -
Sourdough Scott In Big Trouble
Sourdough Scott replied to klunker's topic in Detector Prospector Forum
I added a new twist this year. Next to the panning trough. Is a old miners cabin. It has a recording of the trials of the miner back in the day. I was telling the kids the cabin was haunted when they were listening to the recording. When they were all engrossed listening to the story, I would sneak to the opposite side of the cabin,of the doorway where the kids were, and scare them at the window. About 30% of the kids jumped. Ha. -

This is the most boring thread ever. I'm very ashamed that Klunker made me post it. ? -
Ok, let's see a few of the forums members recent finds. Be sure to include detector settings and GPS coordinates. ?

The Longer I Use The 7000 The More I Like It
Sourdough Scott replied to phoenix's topic in Minelab Metal Detectors
Klunker spot on prophetic ramblings could not be more off base. But make the most sense when you have to spend a grueling day in the field with him. He talks incessantly. I just pretend to take in everything he speaks in jibberish half sentences, and nod my head in accordance. -
Klunker, I got your metal free shoes on order. The beaver is almost finished with them. Size 17 correct? I'll drop them by soon.

GPZ Anybody Else Having Issues With Undergrowth
Sourdough Scott replied to Condor's topic in Minelab Metal Detectors
I have dealt with this somewhat. A plant, shrub, or tree root with a high water content, can run somewhat irratic. Also slow you down and have to check out some possible targets a few extra sweeps to rule them out. Lowering the sensitivity slightly helps. Along with a slow coil sweep. But in my instances, this issue seems to be more prevalent when thunderstorms are nearby. -
