  1. Nice group of rings, and other finds Alexandre!! Was that just one hunt? It look's like a mixture of silt and clay, the way your scoop is sticking! I'm sure the targets stay pretty much intact, and in one place, unlike our constantly moving sand beaches! Don't know about that barefoot thing; i would never do that on my beaches! Thanks for doing the tone test, so we could hear some targets, and see them dug! In most of the AQ videos, the guy's are neck deep in the water, and you can only see when they put it in the basket! Since you had it chest mounted, we couldn't see your setting changes during your testing, but the sounds do tell quite a bit of information! Thanks; and if you can, do a few more testing run videos with the volume, and the controls in sight! Keep up the great work, and finds!???
  2. Cool ring, and nice selection of finds! Hopefully the water will stay warm for awhile! Keep up the great finds!??
  3. Great story Gerry, I haven't been nugget hunting yet, to loose a pick! But i have left a shovel, and dropped a pinpointer at the beach! And had to trek back a long way, hoping that no one else found them, or the surf hadn't claimed them! And your right about that after 50 thing! It changes you!!??
  4. What depths are you finding these pieces at? I wouldn't think that they are settling as deep as the rings your looking for! So my suggestion is that you may have to clean out the wire with a VLF first! Or along with your AQ! But this would definitely be a lot of extra work! Is the area worth it? You be the judge!! Good luck!??
  5. Nice variety you found! Have you also detected that spot????
  6. Simon, Is that a mod, or does it have to be done at production?
  7. I already decided that, when they first started handing out the Ltd!! I think that it will be a lot more durable than this one! If this model is any indication, there will be plenty more rings for all of us! I think all the people that asked for one, and don't get it, should get a discount on the first full production run! Or at least be at the head of the line!! I hope you get a Ltd., if you asked for one!??
  8. I see a six ring count! Don't let Mike clean out all the rings before you get your AQ!???
  9. Hello JCR, Welcome to the forum! Look's like you have a good selection of detectors to use! How long have you been at it? And how is East Texas detecting? Show us some finds, when you get a chance! And be safe; it appears another hurricane is heading your way!!??
  10. Only the stock coil is pink now, when i don't have one of the others on! And it doesn't bother me at all! I actually like it! It's a decent coil! I agree with Steve, in that if it wasn't a $299 deal, i wouldn't have bought it! I would have just got a Simplex, or Vanquish instead! Both of which i also like! What amazes me it the premium price all the other G2+'s are listed for! Crazy! And what he said about how they market stuff is also odd to me! It really sucks about availability and pricing in NZ! I wish it was delt with better!??
  11. I'm with ya on that Simon!! Does that kind of thinking sound familiar?! They are obviously not paying attention to the market's winner's and loser's! Baffles the mind! I'm no marketing expert, but i think this ship is sinking!??
  12. Kac, Yes, i won't use a coil without a coil cover! Too easy to damage it otherwise, IMO!??
  13. Goldpick, I have found you are 100% correct on the sand contact, and overload in water statements! A steady flat swing is a must! I hope the stock coil doesn't leak, as i like it! But over all, it has been good at what it does!??
  14. Hello Simon!!! And yes, I've been using the 13" Ultimate, and the Original "Pinky" coil, alternately! They both work great! I haven't used the Nel 3.5 x 6.5 yet, but i have a few specific spots in mind for that one! I wish i could be doing some nugget hunting with it, but not too many of those here, unless someone is wearing one! Maybe they will be a good sport, and drop one on the beach for me!!? That picture was from a video i took, but i can't seem to be able to post video's for some reason! Im still trying to figure out the problem!??
  15. All i know is that i really like the detector! And the great price did help! It does have some limitations, but i knew that going in! It will pay for itself in no time! The $299 deal is still on Amazon; says 4 left!! Thank's all on the forum who brought it to my attention! And also, Today is my One Year Anniversary on Detector Prospector Forum!! Thank's to all who have entertained me, and shared your knowledge!! ??✨??
  16. Mitchel, That's Lake Worth Pier! We also have Juno Pier to the North! The other picture that look's like a dark shadow, is the bigger mullet that you caught! We have both this time of year! Too bad you weren't detecting back when you went to Sebastian! There was a much better chance to find some wreck treasure back then, before all this renurishment crap! Depending on how long ago that was! I was in the same boat! When we were younger, we used to camp at Sebastian a few times a year! Little did i know what was on the beach there!??
  17. Hello all, I decided to start a new post from the "Tale of Two Detectors" post, specifically for the G2+! That way, anyone else that bought one, or has one, can also post, for setup and such! I went out yesterday afternoon, seeing how it had been raining all day, and i was tired of being stuck in the house! It was perfect weather to detect, and the tide was falling! The rain made it cool enough to be fairly comfortable in the humidity! The beaches the last couple of weeks have not been good! Sand is still way to soft near the water to find much! And the renurishment sand still pollutes the beach's! But it's exercise, and gets me out of the house to work on my skills with pinky! There was one other guy working south of me, so i headed north of the pier! A walked about a mile with little to show, before i saw some promising erosion! Once getting there, some coins started here and there! But nothing that was going to break the bank! I am getting the hang of the sounds the detector makes, and could decern when to not dig much better this time out! The highlight finds were a nice fishing lure, and a small gold/ silver ring; not sure yet, as it has no discernable mark inside the band, but it cleaned up nice, and is the first ring i found with the G2+! ? Also of note, was low tide finger mullet running in the shallows, to avoid being eaten! I walked thru a large school, while detecting! Nature is awesome, and one of the "Treasures" you can't take home in a find's pouch!??
  18. I was thinking maybe Nye lubricates may want to buy the jar and contents from you, to put in the company museum! Maybe they will even formulate a coin preservative from the recipe to market; minus the stench! If nothing else, it could be sold to the military for fighting terrorists! Think of it; not a bullet fired, nor life risked! Just drop a few dozen jars on a terrorist stronghold, and they would vacate immediately! And they would be banned by all other's from hiding out amongst them!???
  19. Thanks Geof, Very good story on Nye Lubricants! Sounds like they got their business model perfected early on; even when making the switch to synthetic from animal: to still be in business today! I wish White's could have adapted as well! Maybe Caleb can post a picture of the jar, when he posts the other coins! If he can get near it!???
  20. Welcome TR, Glad to have you! You will learn much here, no matter what your swinging! Good luck on the nuggets!??
  21. Sounds like you've done your homework Dew! Do you use one also? ??
  22. Wow, Two silver, AND A GOLD!!? I think you just won all three spots in the Coin Olympics! Way to go!! Keep the luck running!!??
  23. Hey Kac, I was just looking it up, only 1864 was small and large motto! His coin looks to be between AU(50) and MS(60) range! Beautiful coin! Can't wait to see the rest! (See only, not smell!!)????
  24. Like everything Rob, the "grass is always greener" if you have been in one location for a long time! I feel your pain! I've been near beaches in S. Florida my whole life, and many times it gets old! They are not what they used to be! Too many restrictions and rules! And too crowded! And other than the Treasure Coast, no old coins or relics to be found! (And rare when you do!) But i guess we deal with what we have, until we are able to relocate! Which i hope to do in the next year or two!??
  25. Good luck with it RR, I'm keeping my eye on it's use on the beach and saltwater, by our forum member's! Price is the only hindrance for now! As compaired to a Nox! I hope it does a better job of staying dry, and problem free!??
