  1. Very good!👍👍 She will be up and skiing in no time! More work watching out for boys!! Instead of guns, can just clean your detectors, if a boy comes to call! You can tell them you have many, and your not afraid to use them!🤣👍👍
  2. If the folding stand is the one I'm thinking of; it's OK! The problem i was having with it was i could not get it to tighten up enough! My detector would rotate in the clamp! And i didn't want to overtighten and break it! But i think if i put a few dabs of silicone on it, and reinstall, that may solve this! I've seen the other one also! It looks very sturdy, but it's a fixed stand, and may get in the way with headphone wires, or storage!👍👍
  3. I'm happy about a video! Thanks!! But sad about your daughter's arm! When my son was younger, he broke his arm falling off a slide! I took one look at it, and asked him what color cast did he want!( he got purple)!😂 I'm glad it wasn't anything more serious!🙏👍👍
  4. The two that Simon suggested above! I think they will be an awesome combination for the main places i hunt! Now i just need some cooler weather!👍👍
  5. I haven't used my two coils yet, but have used the straight tip on the beach! I did have a hard time finding very small metal pieces that my 800 found very easily, but couldn't find in the sand! But coin sized items and other stuff, it was fine and dandy so far!!👍👍
  6. The color won't be an issue at all for me! I've already ordered 2 new coils and a detector cover! And i have a spare aluminum cuff! So the color will never see the light of day now! Thank's Simon for the suggestions! 😂👍👍
  7. Maybe someone filled it with gold and silver before burying??😳😲
  8. Garrett AT Pro still, and for several years! And (just traded away), Nox 800!👍👍
  9. Sorry Caleb, I'm out of likes again! But i have plenty of these!!😂👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
  10. Hey Dan, Are they already drawing it down for winter? Or is it drought related? Nice finds, and that's a lot of trash!!👍👍
  11. Hello Pete, Welcome to the forum! No! There is no difference in the two cables! They supply two, so you have a backup, and so you can charge two parts at the same time! Call Minelab service if you continue to have issues! They will help you! Service is very good!! Good Luck!!👍👍
  12. Hey Compass, Don't forget that those earring studs can come with a nice diamond attached! And thank's for removing all those bottle caps, and stuff for me! Much easier to detect behind you now!! 🤣👍👍
  13. Like any detector, it's what your willing to pay! I have no room to be critical, i just traded my EQ 800 for a New Whites MXT Pro! I'm hopeful for the Apex! And time will tell if they have a winner with the price, and it's positioning in their line, and the line of competitors! It's just not for me in it's current configuration, and stage of development! Like I've stated before, I will look at an AT Waterproof (Truly Waterproof!!) Salt water friendly, version that can accept software updates; more seriously! If and when they bring one to market!👍👍
  14. Hello again Dave, Welcome to the forum! 👍👍
  15. Watch out for the Jersey Devil! I hear he is fond of eating lone detectorists!! 👹🤣👍👍
  16. I would do a full reset first! Than make sure you have the latest updates! Than a full reset again! Test away from salt areas in other modes, to see if there are any other issues! Try and determine if the coil, or cable has any issues away from salt area! Even on my mild S. Florida beaches, i can't run full sensitivity normally! Nor would i really want to! Depending on conditions, i run between 20-23 in the beach modes! Also, remember that your cellphone, or others, and towers, may cause some issues! You can put yours in airplane mode in an opposing pocket from your detector! And no metal in your shoes! I dont know your experience level with the Nox, so i just wanted to cover as many problem issues as i could think of! If all else fails, talk to Minelab, and see if they can help you! I've had to replace a pod a few months ago, due to falsing issues not related to coil, or water intrusion! Good Luck!👍👍
  17. Hey Dave, If you use your new detector for awhile, and are not happy, you can always trade or sell! You just happened to buy a unit that does not have any real track record yet, because it's so new on the market! It's Garrett's first foray into the multifrequency market! But they are a well established, and respected company with great customer service! If you have any doubts or issues with your new machine, talk to them first! They will help! But i would just concentrate on the basics, and good detecting eddiquette! (Look up, if you're not familiar!) As said above, it will find stuff like any detector; both good and bad! And it takes time to learn it's "language"! Follow the forum posts that interest you; and/or pertain to your machine! Also YouTube will have an ever increasing number of people testing and learning their new Apex also! Good Luck, and welcome to the world of detecting!👍👍
  18. Wow Steve, That a fantastic list of achievements by Dave Johnson! It would be great to have a bio of each key developer and engineer, and than; Where Are They Now! Retired, consulting, active, etc... I'm guessing that there is probably a book or two compiled somewhere, with much of this info! 👍👍
  19. Never seen one like it! Looks like a lot of work went into it! Nice find!👍👍
  20. Now i must go under my house, before selling, just to be sure! It was built in 1941! I've been under there many times for repairs, but never to detect! You never know!! Great Job!!👍👍
  21. I'm going to add to (resurrect) this post now! Seeing how you all subliminally got me to buy a BH variant, G2+ (Camo Pinky) Today!🤣 I'm excited about getting the G2+, and the opportunity to get some aftermarket coils finally! (ML dig)! And i vaguely remember reading through this thread! Now it all makes sense! Even though this thread is several months old, your all's coil choices appear to be consistent with today's posts! Good job! And Steve, i guess Simon and the rest of us, will continue to wait for the "maiden voyage"?? of your TRP!! In the meantime, I've got a few coils to acquire! For this, i blame you and Simon!! Who knew that you could catch this "illness" through the forum!! How about a warning on the home page, for god sakes!!🤣👍👍
  22. Good to know guys, Maybe i won't miss the Nox at the beach so much; for awile anyway!👍👍
  23. Hey kac, Here's one of those "shallow" pine forest targets found recently, that we all wish was one of us digging there!!👍👍
  24. Chase, There's definitely something to the tactility of toggles and knobs! But I'm having a hell of a time finding a 2 piece dust cover for it! I must have looked at 10 different sites today! By the way, good to know about the radio hobby! I've got an old one in my shed! I think it's Gray Radio Co.! With a very low serial number! Had it for years, and is a little worse for wear, but cool looking!👍👍
  25. Bigtim, Those are exactly what i intend for both detectors! Took a gamble, since i am primarily a beach hunter! But may be relocating to Tennessee next year! We will see! But i wanted to expand a bit anyway, and couldn't pass up the two, time sensitive deals! Thank's for the coil suggestion!👍👍
