Wow, Great luck and finds SK!! Those will get the blood pumping! Congratulations!! Were they even buried, or on the grass!? And what's the story on the rest??💍💍👍👍

Chase, I would love to see the Orx set up as you just described! I was just addressing the issue of manufacturers paying closer attention to the suggestions on the forums, in another post a few minutes ago! As far as the Nox 800, i still like it very much! And had i been able to afford to keep it, and get the MXT, i would have! But i know i will be able to pick up one, or the 600 later on, if i wish! I also like the Orx, and would consider it also, especially if the changes you suggested were implemented!!👍👍

Naming Contest For New Multifrequency Detector
Joe D. replied to Nokta Detectors's topic in Nokta / Makro Legend Forum
All the more reason for the manufacturers to pay more attention to the Forums; especially this one! (i may be a little biased on this one!) 🤣 I think the reps that frequent the forums not only get positive attention from us, but cull positive information into what is in demand from us! Now if they would all just use that information! (ML)!!👍👍 -
Video I Did Of The Garrett Apex On Nail Board Test
Joe D. replied to Keith Southern's topic in Garrett Metal Detectors
I'm surprised that there wasn't more interference from the concrete slab! Most have wire and rebar embedded; so that would usually have an effect on any test setup!👍👍 -
Well bigtim, As you know, you pretty much described the situation with my traded Nox 800! I just felt i wasn't utilizing all that it had! Not that i probably couldn't have grown into it more! It's a great detector! I guess I'm just not fond of fiddling with programs in the field; it's a time killer! And with all the bright sunny days, and humidity, hard to see the screen well! I can always revisit a more multi feature detector later, if the need arises! But i think my recent units will serve me better for now!👍👍

Yep, anyone that has ever fished has forgot that damn latch, at least once!! Always "fun" fishing all that crap out of the sand! Now you have enough lead for a couple of nice counterweights!!🤣👍👍

Video - Understanding Iron Masking And Target ID
Joe D. replied to Steve Herschbach's topic in Garrett Metal Detectors
Test gardens are what they are, like air tests! I'm sure Garrett has some substantial test gardens! Steve does do decent videos, compared to some of the goofy one's out there! I do hope that they process all the feedback for the Apex rapidly, and get the AT design progressing! And hopefully updateable!👍👍 -

Got out again today with the G2+ and 13" Ultimate again! Read the manual, and watched a few YouTube videos for startup! This is the beach i last used the Nox 800 at, when the erosion was better! But this was more of a testing run, than a hunting run! Good thing, because there wasn't much to find! A lot of sand had returned! It tuned pretty well, considering i was using it in the wet sand and a few inches of water! Any more than that, and the detector would overload! The farther i got from the water, the more stable it got! As long as i didn't bump the coil on the beach, i was able to keep the gain up almost to max! I did have to keep rinsing the coil off every few minutes, because my walking kept loading the coil with wet sand, to where it felt like i was swinging a couple of bricks! You would think with the very thin profile of the 13", that it would slide right off! No! Just kept building up! About the only thing i have left to do is mount my counterweight on it, that i had on the Nox! Next up will be the Nel 3.5×6.5 on it, in a local trashy park; and or beach! Stay tuned!!👍👍

My New To Me MXT Pro Set Up As Of Today
Joe D. replied to bigtim1973's topic in White's Metal Detectors
Look's Awesome Tim, I have the same setup, minus the probe! Plus the 7" Ultimate! Haven't tried either out yet; been learning the G2+ for now! I ordered a cover set, but won't be here till November!! A couple sites sell the black aluminum stand for it also! Keeps it off the ground! Between 5-8 dollars! I got one! Takes about a minute to install! Mounts on the rear of the box!! 👍👍 -
Here are some new pics from today! Did a little hunting with the new G2+, but not much going on due to being sanded in!👍👍

Welcome Chip, Sounds like you are off to a good start!! The Equinox Handbook by Andy Sabisch will help you too! Good Luck! See ya here!👍👍

Mxt Tracker Or Mxt Pro Which One Is Your Pick?

Mxt Tracker Or Mxt Pro Which One Is Your Pick?
Joe D. replied to bigtim1973's topic in White's Metal Detectors
Bigtim, As you know, reading my posts, i got the All Pro! After reading several different posts here, and other stories and reviews, i thought i would like to have one new, before they were gone forever! And the deal was good! It was really a lot to do with the timing of several events! I don't plan to let it go for a long time! Maybe it was a metal detector midlife crisis; i don't know! But i think i made a good choice, for the way i detect! And it's a hell of a lot cheaper than a Blond and a Corvette! (Already married to a Blond, and i don't really like Corvettes! Except the split window 63') 😂👍👍 -

Steve, Your looking quite tall and skinny in that pic! Were you using a "Funhouse Mirrior" app.?? 🤣 Update: 🤣 Wow Steve, your photo fixing chi is strong!!👊 Now that's a handsome pic!!👍👍 -
Mxt Tracker Or Mxt Pro Which One Is Your Pick?
Joe D. replied to bigtim1973's topic in White's Metal Detectors
Nice Nugget!! I was reading your Gains Creek post (2018) from 2002! When was the last time you were there, and did you still bring the MXT along; or Nox, or others? And why do you think that the MXT, and the All Pro, are still holding their price points? And does the Creek still produce? I'm sure it does, but i had to ask!! (Maybe for another post!!)👍👍 -
Keep at it kac, How old is the area's usage?? Was it also a swimming hole?? You never know when the rain is going to make it wet again! And with all that dead vegetation buildup, you will definitely have to punch through, to get to the good stuff with a larger coil!! At least being a pond bottom, you don't have to worry too much about how big your holes are! Dig away, and find us some good stuff!!👍👍

Hello Kyle! Welcome! And looking forward to some finds! Good luck!!👍👍

Has Anyone Seen Or Used The Detech Detectors??
Joe D. replied to Joe D.'s topic in Metal Detector Advice & Comparisons
Well, i guess that answer's that question!! Too bad, i would like to see more competition for the big boys out there! -
Hello Rusty, Welcome! And give us all your money! 😂 Actually, just give us a little more info about yourself, and where and what you hunt! Than the money!🤣👍👍
-
Smile Norm!! It wasn't that expensive!!🤣👍👍
-
I had looked on Ebay for used coils, but the prices were so close to those on MD.com for new, that it was actually cheaper with the freebies i got for spending $600 to buy with them; and have the warranty, and ability to return if i have any issues with them!👍👍
-
This, and several other issues, are why i wasn't too broken up about trading it away! Don't get me wrong, it's one of the best detectors out there! But i really think that Minelab need's to be more responsive to things that overwhelming amounts of owners are asking for! If you don't learn from other company's failures, than you are doomed to repeat them!👍👍
