How To Open XP Pinpointer Knob That Is Stuck

SG CT

Recommended Posts

This morning I wanted to charge my XP MI-4 pinpointer but couldn't open the knob covering the charging plug. After many fruitless attempts, I contacted XP service at metaldetector.com. In an on-line chat, they suggested soaking the tip in warm water for 15 minutes, then to try twisting to open and even reversing directions a few times. After a few tries, this worked.

Hope this helps anyone else who might have this problem.

To open the top cap of the MI6 pinpointer, you can use a heavily rubberized work glove / can create a strong adhesion with the pinpointer cap / ... and ... so you can easily open this top cap .... after charging the Pinpointer .. I recommend closing this cap only mild force - it is strongly self-locking ..

My Minelab profind 35 cap used to get stuck, put a dab of silicone grease on the threads and it opens easier now. Same thing should work for the XP. If you don't have silicone grease you can use petroleum jelly.
