Gopro Mount Dive Mask Recommendations?
ognjen replied to TTT2866's topic in Metal Detecting For Jewelry
I have similar from Aliexpress and it is not good for me. The silicone rubber on the mask is too thick to adhere nicely to the face, at least that's how it is for me. There is a huge difference in the quality of the rubber in the Cresi Matrix diving mask and in these Chinese masks, although the Cressi Matrix I own is not expensive mask. There are also available Seac diving mask and Omer Alien with gopro mount. I not try them -
Gopro Mount Dive Mask Recommendations?

Thanks for that, I just looked it up and it looks really nice, I think I might take the gamble and get one; I'll let you know how I find it. When googling it, I also came across this Temu ad for a similar looking one I might also grab. It's very cheap and probably nasty but you never know. $18 AUD is easily covered. Temu Gopro mask -

Hi everyone. Sorry for my poor Tarzanian English. I use Nokta Pulse Dive 4 years. This summer I used it at leats 120hours. And I love that detector. I use it in shallow salt water when diving with 10kg of weights. Max deep where I go is 2.5m minimum is about 0.4m. So I find a lot of stuff and it is not problem for me to dig everything. It can find small piece of gold under 1g. It can detect up to 20cm not too big or heavy rings. It can not detect gold chains (most of them) but even very expensive detectors can not detect gold chains especially in salt water. What I missing because I not use more expensive detector for underwater detecting? I read a lot but really can not understand. Probably because I not use any other detector (only use Chinese Pulse dive copia). Can someone try to explain me what I can get with some other detector that I not have with Pulse dive. Is it deep? Are that detection of smaller gold objects? Are that iron elimination (if that is posible in salt water)? Are that discrimination? Is that detectors worth that price difference 1000-1500 dollars compared to Pulse dive? Is it better to invest than money in Blue Nemo mini or something like that? Thank you for answers, suggestions, advices..

Must admit i have never heard of any leakages with the AT series either,if it ain't broke dont change the design.....the Nox had major issues and that must have cost Minelab a fair amount to sort the control box water ingress issue.

I have Cressi Action white for me it is also small but still I wear it and use. Also have two cheap Chinese diving mask ordered from Aliexpress but both of theam leaking and not fit well on my face. I saw that some youtubers use Octomask but it is expensive for my taste. -

The AT's seem bulletproof, better to prevent leaks before release and learn from others mistakes.

I do the same, tune the Sphinx so it's sparky but stable enough to not be annoying, even then it's more stable than my Pro-Find 35

Skull diver started following Depth Versus Prospecting Audio Theme
-
I love both audio themes, actually more the prospecting type, but just for the true treshold and its subtle variations. Problem is that I can't use it at all. Depth mode has been the only alternative for me underwater to fight the harassing noise in Beach LC. Of course on the wetsand the thing can vary a little bit, but I strongly depend on ear training and right now, since day one, I can't change anymore the type of sound I listen to. So I desperately miss the real threshold whispers, but I adopted the only available chance to hear a strong pitch on a signal surrounded by air bubble noise and salt falsing.

My buddy found this cool relic in the San Domingo Mountains (Morristown, AZ) about 4 years ago using his GPX 6000… I don’t know if he ever followed up on it to learn about its history?! I have lost contact with him but if I find him I will ask and let you all know! 🤠👍🏻

Garrett seemed to have a good setup on the at series as far as waterproofing goes. I would hope they might have learned a few things from that. -

I agree with Doc Bach! Very cool indeed! Great post! -
The feature I’ve always been most interested in is depth. Mostly for seeded hunts where I can pinpoint the token or coin from the top of the ground before I ever dig or flip the plug. Last weekend our club had the 54th annual seeded hunt, and the coin planters got a little carried away somehow going a little deeper than usual. Plus the grass was unusually high. It was the guys with the Bullseye TRXs, Fisher F-Pulses, and of course my Sphinx 03 that did the best at retrieving coins and tokens this year. I had it riding on the razors edge of stability.

FY26 for a CTX replacement too I would imagine. For now, I’m pretty darn happy with the Manticore. I just wish they made a better pinpointer, something like my Sphinx 03 would be killer.

Kevlar/Fiberglass Lower Rod Thread (Steve's Detector Rods)
steveg replied to steveg's topic in Detector Prospector Forum
Hi everyone! I just wanted to note that all "pre-orders" have been filled, and now will begin taking regular orders for non-conductive, glass-fiber lower rods for the previously mentioned detectors... Equinox 600/700/800/900 Manticore XP Deus (for my carbon-fiber Deus complete shaft, NOT for the stock XP shaft) GPX 4500/4800/5000 (I'll have them for the stock Minelab shaft, and also for those who have one of my carbon uppers) GPX 6000 Gold Monster 1000 Thanks! My Trusty EQ11 Coil Is Faulty, Any Suggestions?
PimentoUK replied to CliveHamy's topic in Minelab Equinox Forum
Update: After examining Clive's coil, the wire break was found to be inside the coil, and hence unrepairable. It seems to be a weak point in the coil, this is the second such failure I've seen. The thin wires do a 90 degree bend after they leave the bottom of the strain-relief gland, and pass over to the small circuit-board in the 'fat spoke'. This bend seems to be a high-stress area, possibly also affected by the potting epoxy holding the wires firmly until they enter the gland. -
Looks Like They've Had Some Leaking Issues
Jeff McClendon replied to phrunt's topic in Garrett Vortex Forum
I hadn't really looked closely at photos of the back of the Vortex. The covers for the USB port and the audio plug in port do not look particularly secure or waterproofed. Maybe it is just the quality of the available photos. Some kind of screw on cover seems like it would be more watertight instead of what appears to be a flip up type cover. Since there isn't a manual yet which would include underwater instructions, I really can't say much more about the effectiveness of that dual port flip up cover. -
I get it. I've decided I don't want one anyway...just can't delete the ad. I like the small box on the XL Pro, and have figured out a way to use the handle for my conversion, which was why I wanted the older version to start with. They're good machines, for sure, though heavier than modern units. Jim

That's a nice chunk of gold! And a great design. I like the payout on the current melt, funny it says "This does not mean you should expect to receive..xxxx" It should say, hold for 30 days and you will receive this or more.. Gold is going crazy! -
Talked Myself Into a 25" Nugget Finder Coil
Zephyr replied to Steve Herschbach's topic in Minelab Metal Detectors
I’ve been using my 25 with an upper aluminum with no noticeable issues. Im left wondering if running a modded gpx and using the higher frequencies would cause a PI to pick up carbon rods? hope you enjoy your new coil!
