  1. Like the others Thanks for posting it. We are all very excited for you! Now get to work! strick
  2. Thanks guys! Fiding the silver dollar seems very rare...I don't see many posted. I'm sure it was missed because of its close proximity to the Penney's. Good to use a small coil now and then I guess. There are times when I think the small stock coil 6" hits deeper than the coiltex elliptical? Strick
  3. Lots of weird sounds coming from this place deep targets Etc for some reason the CTX started to hit real good right before dark the other day I don't know if it has to do with Emi or what but it's a potpourri of stuff for sure.
  4. I had about 30 min to kill between calls on Friday so I decided to hit a park close to the next appointment. This park I had written off about a year ago as a target poor environment. It's very small and isolated. So I'm detecting along and see a couple trees in the back that I did not get to last time I was here. I got the Coiltek small elliptical coil on the CTX. As I get near the trees I pick up a couple pennies. Next I get an iffy target but it's reading off and on in the quarter range on the CTX. There is another penny a couple inches away I can tell. So I dig about 5 inches down and out plops this 1925 Peace Dollar!.... WTF? Gotta be a fluke I'm thinking...some kid stole his grand parents stash and lost it in the park. I'm tickled pink but I would have rather found in all the old home sites I've walked hundreds of miles searching lol. While detecting I noticed that I was hearing lots of deep iffy targets and I had pulled out a couple of old twisted metal objects which indicated Old Dirt. I got home around 5pm and got on the computer and went to Google earth. Clicked Historical imaging and saw that the area was an old homesite. The park has been untouched all these years. Looking at the old historical imagery it almost appears that there was an old baseball field due to the triangular shape. So I told Lisa I'll see you in a couple hours lol. Not many targets so I dig everything that hits good and not long into the hunt I pull out this intact pocket watch. I don't know what I like better the watch of the peace dollar. Most of the watches I get are in pieces so this one is the first one thats totally intact and in fairly decent shape. Hit the spot again today and got some old spoons etc....but no more old coins. HH out there! And the ring is fake btw... strick
  5. I'd much rather detect at the beach or the Beautiful high Sierras but sometimes it pays off the hunt near home. For the last few months they have been tearing out the Main Street near where I live so I finally decided to check it out. There is a train Depot there. Fun and something to do. Got a 1870 Spanish coin and other goodies... I enclosed a pic of what the coin would have looked like in its prime.
  6. Sounds good but you need a better beach scoop.... That one looks hard on the back......just saying strick
  7. Agreed the 7K is easy to use....even a caveman could do it. The hard part is parting with the $$$.. strick
  8. The government has everybody walking on pins and needles...I was in Santa Cruz last year and a nice couple walk by and watch me dig a target. The husband asks if it's legal to do this type of activity on the beach? like I was destroying the beach or something? I looked at him smiled and said yes this is the United states of America...He nodded in agreement. 5 seconds later the hole was covered by my foot and the next wave that came in. Good hunting out there! strick
  9. Don't ask anymore......just go have fun. Technically speaking you are looking for a ring YOU lost. And any ancient treasures you find you just discard. There are times when even law enforcement officials don't know the law. And I will add one more thing...some laws are no better then the toilet paper they are written on. strick
  10. Tough hunting up there. Low and REAL slow for sure. It's always a successfull trip if you find GOLD! The desert is beautiful. strick
  11. I'lll take some of that poisen for sure....Glad your OK strick
  12. Thats more like it! real diamonds or not it's a beautiful pendant. I've only ever got one ring with a large real diamond. Got a bunch that had really nice looking fake stones and a few rings with small real diamonds. Keep up the hard work! strick
  13. Last year we were at Pismo beach which is absolutly a great place to hunt. I was toiling along detecting during mid day when the beach is absolutely loaded with people. I happen look up at one point and I notice 5 very attractive middle aged women sitting on the beach watching me and smiling.. .....bachelorette party I'm thinking... So I stop and take off my headphones. Sweat is dripping off me and I'm feeling kinda studly so I shove the head of the scoop forcefully into the sand with my foot, lean against the carbon fiber handle and smile back at them lol. Any luck? one of them asks.... Just some coins I reply back..... Then the next one asks ....Whats your best find? My wife I reply.....Good answer says another... lol strick
  14. Thats a lot of digging for sure. Nice work. I really hate junk jewelry because there is so much of it. Never know what the next target is going to be and thats whats keeps us going. Good luck and thanks for posting! I've got a nice hot wheel collection going as well! strick
  15. That picture of your pendant is too small and dosent do it justice lol. I know you can do better as I see you are a professional photographer. Put that Nikon to work and show us a better photo strick
  16. Most people are fairly friendly. Sounds like you got a wierd one maybe with with mental issues. There are lots of unstable people out there... Most times I try to not to make eye contact in order to avoid conversation. Besides it eats into detecting time. Another trick to is pretend you might have a stability issue...sharp twitch of the face or head jerk occasionally will make people thing twice about approaching you. I thought you were going to say that some other treasure hunt cut in front of your grid and stole all your treasure lol Have fun out there... thats what it's all about. strick
  17. PI gonna go deeper for sure. I have a whites TDI pro that I use regularly. There are times when I say the heck with this (digging everything) and go back to the truck and get my CTX. When targets are scarce go to a different beach.. or look for low spots on the beach you are at. strick
  18. If you get into the wet sand at the beach some machines don't like it (AT Pro) It's hard to find one machine that does it all...Thats why most of us have several. Still sounds like the AT pro or Whites MX sport might be your best bet. If I was going to buy a metal detector for someone that was new to the game those are the two I would look at closely. Good luck and show us what you find! strick
  19. -1 is what I always keep it on. strick
  20. It appears angled from the photo. Nice looking scoop but I already have 3 SS beach scoops lol strick
  21. There is a website https://theringfinders.com try and find someone in your area that can help. probably your best bet. strick
  22. Wow I just look them up.... I have never sold anything I've found....... but I think I would break my rule with that find! strick
