  1. Little tid bits here and there can be clues to our next gold nugget. The Nelson creek blurb intrigues me...there was a land slide near there that I was interested in checking out a couple years ago...thanks for posting...so many areas and so little time strick

  9. Way to sniff out a good site. Most of the parks and schools around my area are well irrigated since the drought is officially over. They are just as moist as they were during winter months. Good luck and HH strick
  10. Thanks for the great post...If nothing else I was greatly entertained last night. I'll leave the high lift jacks to the experts...last time I was involved with one was about 30 years ago... this guy is funny, strick

  13. Two months of solid detecting sounds like a 5 star vacation for sure. Adding up all the costs at the end of the trip however is kind of a spoiler for me. Reason being he did not include his wages lost if he worked during that 60 days. Leave the money out of having fun. Recently I ran into another fellow gold hunter while out in the field. We were talking detectors. I mentioned how much I liked the SDC 2300 for small nuggets. His reply was "the hell with those tiny nuggets...it will take forever to pay off the machine! My first thought was if I wanted to make money I would just stay home and work. strick
  14. Always fun to see all these finds from all over the world. Thanks for posting Steve. strick
  15. Maybe the CTX 4040 is finally here...lighter, faster processor with more coil choices....and waterproof. Strick
  16. That REI Knapsack carried many of books during my college days. Some things you never seem to loose but that day pack as been long gone for many years.... thanks for jogging my memory. Since I have a Gold Monster (Birthday gift from my wife) My Deus will remain a relic machine for now. strick
  17. This is very good thred and everyone should read it. It needs to be pinned or something. I try and run in normal as much as I can with the 7K strick
  18. Yep dig those low tones. Most that I have found are below 12.14 on the ctx with my eyebrow raiser/sweet spot areas being in the 12.03 to 12.08 .... However now I'm paying lots of attention to the rotten zinc penny that read from 12.30 and down..... which may lead to the death of me lol... SECRET with the CTX if I get a good hit with anything below 12.30 and it shows up as a nice red blob on the target trace..then it gets dug. Rotten deep zinc pennies and very old deep pull tabs often give a weak target trace. strick
  19. Once again nice going Clark. If anybody had a nice nugget with his name waiting on it...it was you. You have worked so hard! I have a feeling now they will start flowing in. Cant wait to see what the pendant ends up looking like... you being into arts and crafts and such strick
  20. I don't know exactly why but I started saving pull tabs about a year ago. deutran- I believe it brother.... way out in the bush going miles without even getting a signal...my mind would drift off thinking of whatever...kinda like when I used to be a house painter. strick
  21. Thanks fellas and yes I hope it's an ice breaker for everyone. Good luck out there everyone Ring is stamped "Always Forever Francis" on the inside of the band. strick
  22. "the principle that supposes most future events are likely to balance any past deviation from a presumed average" Must have been a treasure hunter who ever thought of it. Got a nice 14K band at the park Saturday. 12.30 with the CTX 4 inches deep. I love it when the gold finally pops up after all the junk you dig. I look at every older park and assume that there is gold in it somewhere....Heres to your next gold find strick
  23. Way to go sounds like you guys had fun...Gerry's a great guy who will bend over backwards for his clients. strick
