  1. Same for me , the V80 seems to be a very good machine , but the D2 is much lighter and it wont replace my D2 at least for this reason ..
  2. Sorry , yes the Xterra Pro does have an embedded wireless emitter , I just checked the user manual. Its price will be around 430E with the wireless headphones I think . A reasonable price for a quite sophisticated detector
  3. Probably because the coil is too big for hunting low conductivity targets in the irons . Personally I would use the V80 with a smaller coil for more accuracy .
  4. I did not find the V80 tones to be bad . For me the V80 audio is faster than the elongated tones of some other brands , and I like fast audios which have excellent separation and are very accurate on targets , especially in the irons . To be confirmed in the field .. The Quest X5 and Q30 are fast detectors too , it looks like it will be the same for the new V60/V80 .. Perhaps because they use recent and fast chips as stated on their web page :
  5. or UHU araldite two part
  6. From my experience , of course other's opinions are important and always very interesting but there is no better way to assess a detector than to try it , as detecting is a very personal thing especially the detectors's audio .. If you dont know XP I would suggest to get a second hand Orx or Deus ( to reduce the costs ) and spend a few hours with it . May be you will like it or may be not . But at the end at least you know ... And at the end just keep the one that you prefer ...
  7. Already seen this vid in an other thread but enjoyed to watch it once again . This machine is very fast for a SMF detector . Looks like there is a new very serious competitor in the wild ...
  8. Neither an updating machine ... 🙂
  9. Thanks Detectornado , I like the detector audio which seems very accurate and reactive , like on the X5 and the Q30 . Looks like Quest has done a very good job with this new V80 ...
  10. Exactly the opposite for me ... I never use ebay . Amazon is simple , fast and very reliable . I use it for buying what I cannot find in my local shops , dvds , electronics , etc .. But I would never buy an expensive item like a detector on Amazon
  11. Congrats for the 1607 hammered coin , certainly lost by the first US settlers . It is difficult to find such hammered coins even over here in France , and you did it in the US ... Wow ..
  12. For info the D2 settings that I use since last year : SENSITIVE , 5 TONES , SQUARE. I have around 50 hours with my D2 I have tried FAST during my tests btw , but I didnt like the pitch audio . Probably a matter of personal preference ..
  13. ML better than XP in the irons ? Hmm ... Have you used or tried more standard D2 modes like SENSITIVE for example ? Or even GENERAL ? These modes are much more often used by the users than RELIC ,which is rather a specific mode My detailed field test done in March 2022 : Test XP DEUS 2 28FMF en terres intérieures (metaux-detection.fr) It is in French ..
  14. Going a little off topic , I dont know the CZ neither the F75 but I know the T2 . I have used the T2 on ultra iron trashed areas in France a few years ago and I have been very impressed with it and its sharp and "crystal" audio .. Very impressed by the FA mode btw , its a magical mode , absolutely silent on nail beds with incredible reactivity on targets .. I did not keep it because it is a little too heavy for me ( 1,57kg ) . I think that FT could release a new redesigned T2 version , modern and lighter ( 1,1 or 1,2kg ) with a lithium/ion battery , a slim digital screen, a carbon shaft etc . No need for multifrequency , keep 14khz as it is very polyvalent and works very well, keep the same electronics just reduce the PCB size , like on a Garrett Apex for example . Keep the 28cmX18 coil size as it is a very good coil too .. I think that such a detector would be appreciated by the users ...
  15. Detecting time per detector ? Type of soil : mineralized or not ? Iron trash level : low or high ? Looking fwd to the results ..
  16. I agree , even if the D2 had 10% less depth or separation than its competitors I would still go for a D2 simply because it is 30% lighter than the others ... I know that some people dont care about weight , but some others do , then it is a matter of personal preference ..
  17. And they continuously improve their detectors . Their last flagship was the Q60 , I have tested it 2 years ago , excellent electronics with 3 switchable freqs . Unfortunately the stock coil is a huge 32cmX25 coil , too big and too heavy , as I said in my test : TEST QUEST Q60 DISQUE 32x25 (metaux-detection.fr) The new V60/V80 are delivered with a more standard and compact 27cmX25 coil , there is no doubt that it will be appreciated by the users . Lets wait for the field tests now ...
  18. I agree XP should document the content-delta of each new version vs the previous one , and I found nothing on their website ..
  19. Then 1,4kg . A little more than an Equinox ( 1,3kg ) and a little less than a Legend ( 1,5kg )
  20. May be we could start a thread on pinpointer weights ? 🙂
  21. Interesting video but the 900 and Mcore and 900 are definitely too chatty and unstable for me in such typical European roman or medieval high iron trashed areas . They recall me the Eq800 ... I wonder how this user can detect with all this audio mess ... Personally I cant , I prefer more silent detectors like the T2 or the XPs Nice field test video in a very nice area though 🙂 , thx ...
  22. Yes but still far from a D2 WS6 Master : 800g with a 9" coil and 880g with a 11" coil ...
