  1. What are you talking about, I didn't get anything for Christmas. However you are more than welcome to post more of those beach pictures.
  2. Simply type in almost any search engine "hard to find rare costume jewelry", and it should give some good pointers. More of the valuable items will have a makers mark on them and you can then you will be able to judge what they are worth. I have seen my grandfather get over $1,000 for a broach that I thought was total junk, but it was a very rare item. Hope this helps.
  3. Thanks for sharing the trip with us and I really liked the beach picture. Didn't see any rocks on the beach so I guess they were really small. Good luck on your next hunt and stay safe out there.
  4. Thanks for sharing the information to us, and remember that some of the "Junk" items could be hard to find costume jewelry. Some of the old items can be as much as the real stuff or higher.
  5. Nice job on the find and that is a nice specimen. Good luck on your next outing.
  6. Great hunting and some very nice saves. Good luck on your next outings.
  7. Great find on the ring and hopefully the ring can be rejoined to the person who actually lost it. You may want to check with the county court house or newspaper and locate some records as to who the peoples names are. That way it can be given to one of their children or grand children. Best of luck in this new year and stay safe out there.
  8. Great looking coin and it is in good condition for being lost for so long. Wish you more luck on your next hunt, way to start off a new year.
  9. Good save on the nugget Simon, and remember that it all starts with the first one each year. I am sure that this year you will be finding many more to pocket. Have you been sluicing much the past few months yet? Good luck and good hunting.
  10. Nice job on the nugget if that is what your calling it, from our creeks around here we call that flour gold. Just kidding. Wishing you more luck to find the rest of the nugget.
  11. Congrats on the find and would love to see the video. Probably more deeper in the roots, and I know it is hard to get to all the smaller ones within those roots. Good luck and stay safe out there.
  12. Thanks for the encouragement and I get it. Just a few more years til I can retire and not have to worry about much to be able to detect and look for gold on a regular basis. But I do have to say that my dirt around here should be just as old as the dirt where you are at, even though I am on a different time zone as you. Good luck in this new year and take care of yourself.
  13. You sir just have not been to a bank that just burned down to start the recovery process. Good luck and I don't want to hear that you got in trouble setting fires to banks.
  14. It just amazes me as to just how good the 2 of you are with detectors, and hit the best finds that anyone could ever expect to dig. Wish you the best of luck this year to exceed what you have done this past year. When I finally get time to use my detector again I just hope that I can find anything half as good as the both of you. Stay safe and stay warm.
  15. The land owner came by and asked if I would be willing to use my metal detector to locate another piece of the meteorite that is missing from it. I told him that when I get over a bad cold I would come by. His daughter that is attending college took it to school and it was confirmed to be real.
  16. Yes it is and the translation is very close. Looks more like something from India, but I could be wrong. They used colors like those instead of stones for gifts to family members.
  17. A find is still a find, it's all about the hunt.
  18. I am hoping that everyone had a safe New Year celebration and that they remain safe during this new year. May all find their treasures and may all find their peace. Good luck and good hunting. Caleb
  19. Great hunting with a nice payout. Good luck in the New Year.
  20. Great job for this time of the year, and who knows if that gold that you may have lost won't still be there when it warms up. Good luck and stay warm.
  21. Thanks for the wonderful write up and I also believe there is a special place that everyone has to go to. I like the creeks and lakes near me, along with a few farms that I haven't finished yet. Good luck in the new year and stay safe out there.
  22. When I first picked up a detector I had a strange pattern that I was using, it was a figure 8 and I sometimes hit my head with the coil. Then when I was around 10 my grandfather taught me to keep the coil level with the ground and to go side to side. I swung the coil at a steady pace, not to fast and not to slow, and was finding all sorts of stuff. I guess when a person is finding things they are looking for when they are detecting properly they just get hooked on detectors. There is no one way to swing a detector, but it is better to keep it near the ground.
  23. Another nice hunt with some good relics, and I would almost bet that you will be back out there on Sunday. Good luck and stay safe out there.
  24. Very nice hunt with some interesting finds. Great job on the saves and good luck on your next hunt.
