  1. I have to say that I got you beat on that. I was out panning in a nearby creek with my girlfriend sitting on a 5 gallon bucket in the creek. About 45 minutes had passed when my pants were getting wet and almost to my waist band. The bucket had sank in the ground during that time period without me even noticing it. My girlfriend was laughing the whole time, but we still came back with almost 15 grams of gold.
  2. Nice to see gold this time of the year and nice to see you out there. Good luck on your next outing and remember to stay safe and warm when you go.
  3. Very nice hunt, looks like a old monastery with the finds. Good luck on your next outing and stay safe out there.
  4. Incredible find for Christmas, and I hope that more of them come your way. Great hunt and good luck on your next outing before the end of the year.
  5. It may have some type of video on it that might show the owner. Good find and good luck on your next hunt.
  6. Nice finds and glad that you are cleaning up the beach as you hunt. Good luck on your next outing and Merry Christmas.
  7. Nice find and they do add up over time. Good luck on your next hunt.
  8. Very nice looking ring, and glad to see how you put it together for yourself. Good luck on your next hunt and Merry Christmas.
  9. Thanks for sharing the video of those nice finds, glad things are picking up for you. How is your new underwater system working out for you?
  10. Great finds and a nice branding iron just don't try using it on anyone. Just kidding. Good luck on your next hunt.
  11. Nice hunt with a few good saves, some of the areas around here that has clay below the topsoil is a good spot for the really old coins. Next time when it is dry try to hit it with the maximum depth that you can. Good luck on your next outing and stay warm out there. Merry Christmas.
  12. Great hunt and nice picture of the gold. However could you be a little more specific on where you found them, gps numbers would be nice and I promise not to tell anyone where to look. Good luck on your next hunt and stay safe out there.
  13. Thanks for sharing this information as I did like him on the show. May he find more large nuggets in heaven.
  14. Great find and I think it is much better than Gerry's find, as it is a find from a place that won't have tourist's all the time. Your wife will be very pleased to have it unless she is picky, in that case just send it to me and I will share it with my girlfriend. Good luck on your next outing.
  15. Great find and I would like to know if that also belonged to GB Amateur since you got his wallet.
  16. Well it's like pulling teeth on a chicken, he is afraid that if he reports it the State will tell him to turn it over to them. He sort of hates the government here in Illinois. I wanted to take photo's of it when I saw it but he told me not to at this time. People like him you really want him to share the information when they are comfortable to do so.
  17. Very nice hunt with some great finds. Good luck on your next outing and stay warm out there.
  18. Congrats on the win, and may the good luck help you to find more gold for you.
  19. I passed that information to the land owner and told him to report it, and to find out more about the meteorite check into the nearby college. I will ask him again to do a report on it.
  20. Sorry I will not be taking equipment with me to Norway, it will be to cold and I really don't want to have it slow me down. Should I get a chance to detect in one of those European countries I would be around there for a month, and I simply don't have that much time to spend there. Now when I go to Australia that might be another thing as I am hoping to have enough time to hit a couple of areas. Also I can't risk the snow bunnies as my girlfriend is going along.
  21. John, I have been watching this thread because of your work on the fines and the way you have been sluicing the rivers. I hope to someday to see you make a video of the equipment that you made to be able to sluice the way you do. Should you do that I would be very grateful for the knowledge as I am still young and want to learn as much as I can about this field. I know how to pan and some sluicing from my grandfather. I would like to know how to build the gear that you use and to be able to go out there and do what you have done. Thank you for bringing new light to this type of gold hunting and showing us what a person can get if they try. Caleb
  22. Nice setup that seems to be able to go all day with, but I have to have an extra pouch for the necessities. You know the smokes, the sunglasses, something to drink, and also a picnic basket for when I need a break. Just kidding about the basket. I will be getting out there again for a few days before taking off to Norway in January, then off to Australia. That will be for new gear for work so all expenses are paid by the company.
  23. Great hunting and taking the time to dig everything up. I like the amethyst ring, it looks to be a good quality stone. Good luck on your next hunt and stay safe out there.
