  1. Nice find and glad that you were able to save it, good luck on your next hunt.
  2. I know that you simply amaze everyone with your hunts, and that goes for this one indeed. Good luck on your next hunt, but we all know that with you, you have more luck than the rest of us. Take care and be safe out there.
  3. WOW, that is some very nice finds for not detecting for a while. Glad to see you back at it again producing some great finds. Good luck this year and stay safe out there.
  4. Great hunt and I love to hunt those courts, I find them to have more change than any where else. Haven't found any gold at one yet but I am not giving up yet. Good luck on your next outing.
  5. Very nice hunt and I bet they learned from you on how to find all that gold. Thanks for sharing.
  6. If I were thinking about starting this hobby, I would go to one of the metal detecting clubs in your area to see if they would be willing to teach you about some detectors. While they teach you they will more than likely have you in an area that will allow you to find something in the ground while using a decent machine. Everyone here has given you some great advice and the only thing is are you really wanting to experience the hobby or wanting to live the hobby. Once you are hooked on this hobby you will have very little time to do any other hobby because you will want to get back out there to find another treasure. Good luck and be safe.
  7. I just hope that he won't start hiding since someone is willing to help him get those glasses for the detectors. Since this is a business trip most of what I do down there will be written off on taxes. I have reserved a plane service to take us where we want to go to look for gold while we are there. Maybe we can get together for some detecting and have a meal together. I know about the currency and that means a lot when I am looking at a sub that is close to 3 million AUD. I can save a lot of money by checking it out and then having it sent to where I need it.
  8. Since I have no idea what it is , I will call it a fuse for a neutron bomb. It could be some type of corking item for all I know.
  9. I will be landing in Perth on Monday and will be close to your area on Wednesday. I am bringing you a gift card so that you will be able to purchase those glasses. I will also have a second card for you to say thank you for your trouble. I was afraid that they would get lost in the mail so I decided to pick them up while I am down there on business. You can message me so that I have your address and please enclose your phone number also. Maybe we will be able to do some detecting while I am there also and I will pick up the drinks and meals. Caleb
  10. I didn't think about that so I must thank you for reminding me about that.
  11. Which detector are you going to use it on, as I sort of remember someone talking about it on a Minelab detector.
  12. The are that you are in does have gold bearing ground, with that said, you have to be patient when looking for it. I am in an area that is not suppose to have any amount of gold, but each year my girlfriend and I can find a couple of ounces of gold. I would be rechecking your own tailings for flour gold or some small flakes the got past your sluice. Nuggets are going to be very small in a worked area, so think small. A detector can also help find the best areas to be looking in should you find a layer of gold bearing ground. I know that you will be able to find what you are looking for as long as you don't give up. Good luck and stay safe out there.
  13. Well the nearest tower is 10-11 miles from our house, so we may get reception if we stand on our roof and that ain't gonna happen.
  14. Nice looking app, now if I could just get a good working phone to put it on because they don't work where I live.
  15. Looks like some good area for gold, and glad to see you find some nice nuggets.
  16. Nice job on the finds at that mud hole. Next time try some snow shoes to keep you from sinking so much. Good luck on your next outing.
  17. Looks like some good outings with some nice finds, the last picture is showing a CZ on silver I believe. Still scored some gold so it looks like it was worth it. Good luck on your next outing and stay safe out there.
  18. I will be flying down there next week to spend some time detecting and a little bit of business. So I got you beat.
  19. Sorry he never touches the stuff, he only drinks the draft type of liquids.
  20. Please contact me and I will provide you with a prepaid UPS shipping label to send them to me. I will also be mailing you a gift card just to let you know just how great of a guy you are.
  21. The last time I removed contacts from some boards I pulled the contacts off and recovered 1.3 oz in my kiln. The boards I have now I estimate maybe double of that, but I am going to wait for more boards so that maybe I can get the gold off the circuit boards themselves. I might check with you in the future to see if you might be interested in helping. I only have about 350 lbs of circuit boards at this time and that is without components on them. Thanks for the in formation, Caleb
  22. I have a lot of contacts that are 18k solid and a lot of traces or runs that are gold plated. That is the reason I am interested in reclaiming as much gold as I can from the circuit boards. Some of the contacts are between 1/2 to 1 gram each and will add up very quickly. Specialty boards that use gold for connections are not cheap and I am going to get my monies worth since they are bad. Thanks for the heads up on what to expect from reclaiming gold from boards.
  23. Seems like any time of the year you always get the gold in you pan. Great job and I know that it would be easier with a much bigger sluice, but much harder to get it to your location. Good job for your hard work and good luck on your next outing, stay safe out there.
