I've been out in swim shorts detecting and when you stir the bottom up digging you get swimmers itch. Also on windy days. I don't hunt in the water in my swim shorts anymore. Thanks for the correction.

I always thought chiggers were in water only but now I know they are on land too. I wear a wet suit in the water but I still get some bites on my ankle. I think I'll get neoprene socks. An ugly bug.

There are a lot of good detectors and idea's at White's. Someone will take it and maybe make it better.

Is it possible White's could reorganize and start up again?

When Does A Cheap Ring Make You Feel Good?
Rick N. MI replied to mn90403's topic in Metal Detecting For Jewelry
Nice hunt. I don't find that much stuff at my lakes and beaches in northern MI. I have all my junk jewelry on small ledge at a window in my kitchen. The other day I looked at them and I took one off only to find out it was gold. I guess I didn't check it well. -

Good to hear. Your replacement will most likely not leak. Mine is doing good in the water. -
This is from the lumbering days in Michigan. It would be hammered into the end of a log and logs were floated in lakes and rivers. This one must have broke when they were hammering on it. I was in Pickerel Lake detecting. http://mauriceeby.org/My_Books_files/Great Lumbering Era 4.pdf When I was a kid this was a boys camp. Now it's a county camp ground. I was detecting in the water where the beach is. That's a native Brook trout stream running thru it. n

Found 2 Silver Earring Today
Rick N. MI replied to Rick N. MI's topic in Metal Detecting For Jewelry
Was out in the water. I modded my scoop to catch those. They hit really nice with the 6" coil. I put them with my collection of gold and silver jewelry I've found. I was happy finding them. Gold is next. -

I thought that's the way it works. That Minelab sends a mailing label. When I had an MX Sport and had to send into to White's they sent me a mailing label too. -

I contacted the dealer about the leak and he contact Minelab. Then Minelab contacted me. Does anybody else get a mailing label? -
Both silver. Was using the Equinox 800 with 6" coil. Using Park 2, 2 tone, recovery 4, iron bias 0, and sensitivity 24. I like Gold mode too. Not worth much, 2 earrings worth $0.50. Like finding 2 quarters lol. The stone is cz. They are real jewelry though.

Good test. The Gmx is hard to beat. Unfortunate White's is down. Maybe they will come back.
