  1. On small gold the Nox will hit in Park 2 and Gold modes. The other modes won't hit them. I tried all the modes on a gold chain, very light gold cross and a tiny piece of gold off an earring. I noticed with Gmx that the deep signals are very soft hits. That's just the way it is. I really would like to see concentric coils for the Equinox. I don't know if it is possible with multi frequency. You will find smaller targets with the Gmx.
  2. It's not able to be remove from the box. Maybe a military medal.
  3. I got it a week ago. First water hunt. The first one I got when it first came out and used it for 2 years in the water with no leaks. Disappointing.
  4. It ran fine in the water. It was later I was going thru some setting and it was erratic. Jumping all around. Then I saw water leaking out where it's glued.
  5. That is 1/4" half round plastic on the edge of the coil. It is on with double sided tape so can be removed. The added weight isn't noticeable. It swept in the water easier. On my Gold Kruzer the coils are thicker a 1/2". I added 1/2" half round and it was noticeably easier to sweep in the water. Now I'm just waiting for my T2 rod for the Nox. It's going to be nice.
  6. All you need is a worn out T2/F75. Maybe someone here has one. Would be a great project. And you could trim your coil :).
  7. Looks like it could work. Not waterproof anymore unless you can seal the battery cables.
  8. That would be a great mod. The worst part would be cutting Equinox handle off. The hard part would be attaching the pod to the T2/F75 handle. The rest would be easy. The balance would be great.
  9. I'm going to get one. It's like the T2/F75. Looks like it would work perfect. Being from the Ukraine, I won't have it till July 2.
  10. Great job. It looks like it would be better balanced like a T2/F75. I like it. I'm going to get one. It is made in the Ukraine.
  11. Thank you, I'm not the only one lol. I have seen other coils trimmed too and have heard others say they would like to trim there Equinox coil. I did it. Add Steve's graphite rod and it is noticeably lighter. Here's a brace for the coil $15.00. https://www.detectingdoodads.com/blog/eliminate-broken-coil-ears
  12. True, I probably shouldn't have done it. It was a brand new coil. It will be fine though.
  13. I decided I'm not going to hip mount it but it's good to know I can. There are a few detectors made that can be hip mounted. Fisher CZ's and 1280x, Tesoro Tiger Shark, Sovereign and others. Fisher CZ's can be chest mounted. I've hunted in the water that way with a lot of different detectors including land detectors put in a small back pack and haven't had any problems. I've hunted with a CZ5, Sovereign, 1236x2 and others in the small backpack in the water. The CZ5 and Sovereign I've hip mounted on land. The Sovereign even has a hip mount bag made for it. You don't trip over the cable because it is wound up on the detector so there is no cable laying around on the ground to trip on.
  14. I'm going to try it both ways and see. Probably not much difference.
  15. Yes 3 of the braces are gone. I still have them and can put them back with epoxy but I don't see that happening. The yellow vinyl helps to see the coil in the water. I also put some on my scoop so I can see which way it is in the water.
  16. I have complete access to the controls. The shaft is graphite. It is so light. I also will have Steve's graphite shaft when I want it mounted on the shaft. As you can see I trimmed the coil. In the photo I forgot to suck my belly in lol.
  17. That a pretty ring. Nice your daughter wanted it.
  18. Tom that tip with the headphones really helps with a noisy detector. You don't notice the noise so much with the volume down but the targets come in clear.
  19. I had to decide when I got mine to get it with the 9" hf or 5x9 hf coil. I chose the 9" hf coil for more depth. I use mine in heavy iron and in the water. My favorite frequency is 28 to 28.8 khz and I use Deep mode and Micro mode.
  20. Very nice find. I don't think a better could be found. I've never found one but my buddy found one in very heavy iron. I had been over that spot many times and didn't hear it. He was using a Minelab Advantage.
  21. I also have the Orx and also the Equinox 800 coming. The Orx is very powerful. On my test coins the Orx does as well as the Equinox. Yes I think XP made a mistake coming out with the Orx which can compete with the Deus.
  22. Nice find. Those are hard to find detecting. Where I'm at silver comes out of the ground silver. In the water it comes out black.
