And lack of coils like the Equinox.

Took my new Equinox 800 w/ 6" coil out deep in the water today. Was out for an hour. It was windy. I got a wet suit and loved it. The top is a short sleeve w/ zipper and and I ordered a long sleeve with a zipper. No Leaks! Only found 1 bottle cap, a junk earring and a copper jewelry piece. My scoop in the center and 1/2 way up the back I put 1/8" stainless steel mesh. It caught the straight earring with a little flower on the end.

I hope it doesn't leak either. I think everybody is a little nervous with there Equinox in the water. The odds of them leaking though is low. The Deux/Orx with waterproof kit is certified to 16' deep in the water. I have the Equinox 800, XP Orx or Gold Kruzer. I like them all. They are all good detectors and water hunters. The Equinox will probably be my main detector in the water. If it doesn't leak 😎. I'm going in the water tomorrow morning with the Equinox and 6" coil. Wish there was an 8" coil for the Equinox.

I'm taking it in the water tomorrow out deep and find out if it leaks or not. I'm going to use it in the water till my 2 year warranty is up.

I used White's Pro Star and the volume was loud. I would try a different headphone.

I've hunted with a couple CZ5's. Run disc at 0 as Tony said. You get 3 tones low, medium and high. Highly praised detectors.

Tom you found plenty of gold rings with it. One time we went to a Catholic church to hunt. I had permission. Tom steps out of the car with his 1270 w/ 5" coil. Doesn't even move and swings his coil and gets an Indian head penny lpl.

Can the Tarsacci hunt in the water chest deep for a couple hours?

Sent the Gold Kruzer in today to get battery replaced. Also ordered the waterproof AA battery pack.

It is under warranty and I have backup detectors. So I might as well find out if it's going to leak or not when I get it. Most likely it won't leak. Good point on the warranty.

The first one I had, it had no problem underwater. The 2nd one leaked. Now when I get my replacement I'm thinking of only hunting to waist deep with it. And use my Gold Kruzer, XP Orx or CZ20 out deeper. I don't want this one to leak. I was worried about my first one leaking and it didn't. Now it happened on the 2nd one. I guess they don't test them for leaks before they go out. Is this a good plan or not. Or should I take it out deep and use it and find out if it leaks? Minelab just got my leaky Nox yesterday. Don't know when I will have another one back. Haven't heard anything yet. I don't have trust in it right now. Does anybody know the percentage that have leaked?

The silver value is good on the 1/2 dollar. Nice hunt. I went out on a fresh water hunt yesterday and didn't do so well. I only got 4 bottle caps. A small piece of tin and no coins or jewelry.

That makes complete sense to increase recovery speed in iron when you are getting a lot of falsing. I've always ran mine at 4 all the time and would get falsing in iron and would turn sensitivity down. I'll do that and increase recovery speed.

You're going to enjoy it. Try to get an hf coil too. If you hunt in the water, the waterproof kit is great.

In Michigan the law is you can walk by a house in the water. You can't stay around detecting or fishing in front of private property. They own the ground to the center of the lake. So in Michigan anyway if I want to detect in front of private property I need to get permission from the land owner.

Yes lol. You need a minimum of 3 detectors. Maybe more. You never know. 2 of mine down just like that.

I have the waterproof kit for the XP Orx/Deus. I go out chest deep. It's like a waterproof cell phone container.

The battery will not keep a charge. I sent an email to Nokta tech. to see what they can do. I might just get the waterproof AA battery pack which will run without the rechargeable battery. Now I'm waiting for my Equinox 800 to come back and see what I can do with the Gold Kruzer. I'm down to my XP Orx now which isn't a bad thing :). I'll be water hunting with it or awhile.
