Treasuredude
Hey Scott, Since you Mom is a new to the hobby. ..I would recommend the Ace 350 and the original Garrett Propointer. ... she can then always move up as she get better.

Steve Herschbach
Hard to go wrong with an Ace, even an Ace 250. If prospecting, basic $499 Gold Bug. However, I am walking out door to a Minelab meeting that starts in an hour. My big advice? Wait!

klunker
Scott; I glanced at the title of your post and thought you wanted something that alerted you to the arrival of your mother in law. Sorry. I should have taken the time to read it---Just kidding (as always). If you would like to try the 705 come by and grab it. It takes a bit of learning but the more I use it the better I like it. Sourdough Scott
Thank you sir klunker. I will. I won a 505 in a raffle and my wife likes it. So now mom want to go out too. I'm not real sure how much she will like it or even go out. But she has expressed interest in it. Just don't want to overspend on it.
