Sourdough Scott
Sitting here listening to it rain very hard. Seeing all of the downed trees around here. Makes me think of going detecting after the storms pass. I especially want to detect the roots of trees and seasonal streams. What do you look for after storms? Gold Seeker
Areas of once deep overburden that has been removed to expose new ground, and I agree on the tree root balls being good to check out in good gold bearing areas.
klunker
I can't prove it but I always think damp ground improves target response. Take a chains saw with you and look up often.
tvanwho
I get better depth on coins in the spring when the soil is moist vs the dry summer months, so there must be something to this idea? I'd say an extra inch or 2...or that rich black topsoil dirt is better than dry dirt too for depth . -
