Steve Herschbach
Pretty amazing nuggets found in that mine. Here is North Bay Resources Incorporated (NBRI) geologist Gary Clifton holding museum reproductions of large Ruby Mine nuggets.
klunker
I hope for and wish them great success, but the cynic in me says there are some things in the report that don add up.
EZMoney Bob
This is really exciting news. Hope the best for them. Interesting about drilling vertically upwards for such a distance, never seen that before and it must take some special techniques.
Reno Chris
Actually drilling from underground workings (in any direction) is pretty standard stuff in the mining industry.
EZMoney Bob
Actually drilling from underground workings (in any direction) is pretty standard stuff in the mining industry. Yeah, I'm sure it is. I've seen short upward holes for blasting but never seen 100+ft long vertical upwards drilling like the Ruby Mine report describes. Very interesting. - Bob
AussieMatt
ITH (in the hole) drilling can be used to drill hole lengths of over 200m horizontally or vertically. Cubex ITH drill rigs can achieve less than 1% deviation over 100m so it is very accurate over good distance. It is used for massive underground mining requiring accurate production Long Hole drilling vertical up like Vertical crater retreating (VCR), Sub level caving, Sublevel stoping & Block caving. Vertical long holes are also used for utility work such as Drainage holes, Service holes, Pilot holes, Ground sampling with reverse circulation & Slot Raises.
