You know the vacuum cleaner actually as a red light green light. When you're vacuuming if the light turns red it means you are picking up dirt. I have never seen it turn red with the exception of when I dropped a glass jar of instant coffee on the kitchen floor. After picking up the glass I vacuumed up the crystals. I yelled at my wife. Hey something is wrong with this vacuum there's a red light than keeps coming on. She comes out to see what I'm talking about, and says, "You idiot, the red light just means you are picking up dirt, or coffee crystals in this case." I said, "Well why have I never seen it come on when you're vacuuming?" She gave me this look that would kill a snake and says, "Because I don't let my house get that dirty." (Apparently it's "HER HOUSE" I just am allowed to live here.) Doc

I have the wireless headphones and like them, if you wear them with the power button on the same side that your swinging the detector the drop outs aren't that bad, but ya the signal is pretty weak compared to most wireless options...

My question is can a 2.4ghz like the mine lab pro sonic just link to the axiom with out a transmitter? They are both 2.4ghz... I just sold my gpz otherwise I would try. Can anyone give it a try?

September 30 - October 14 Closing Out The Season We spent the next several days processing the bottom gravels and finally all the top gravels. We barely had enough water to finish but were able to get all of the gravels processed. The weather has remained warm and dry and our water is gone. A meeting was held and the crew unanimously decided to call an end to the season. The pit ended up producing 879.6 ounces of gold from this last dig. Adding that to our previous amounts we came out of the glory hole with a whopping 1342.3 ounces. Adding up all of the gold we mined gave us 2038.5 ounces for our mining year. There was no way we could have achieved this great success without my good friend Jacob. After we finished the reclamation work there was a discussion about Jacob and Conor staying on the mine for the Winter. After much debate they decided to head back home which for me was a relief. I shook hands with the crew and gave Jacob a big hug. I watched everyone drive off the property and out of sight. My truck was loaded up and ready for the long drive home. Before I left the rain started coming down and the temperature dropped. Some of the rain was mixing with snow. All of the year's memories hit me all at once. I took one last look around and jumped in the truck and drove into town. I stopped and gave my wife a call with the news she had been waiting a long time for. I told her I was on my way home and had a big cache of gold to show her.

Wow there is a lot here to read, I had similar experience especially with ATHC. I would avoid ATHC unless the site is reasonably clean. (almost every nail will create a false higher/high signal about 4 inches of the end of the nail) One very easy thing I have done is, find the target with whatever sensitivity and then back down the sensitivity 3 or 4 or more levels and see if the good target remains while Xing it with the coil. I have found the detector WILL in most case hit a coin harder than a nail. Pushing higher sensitivity where there are nails in a park has not netted me any more coins only more frustration.

I use Bose NC headphones with mine….sync’d to Spotify. I guess you could invent a feedback system to give you a modulated tone in proportion to the dirt detected.

Glad to hear and see you are enjoying the Manticore as a true VLF type gold capable detector. I feel the same way about it and a few of my customers are also seeing the benefits. To me the BIG 3 things that make it shine over the others. 1 - the target Identification, 2- ability to switch from Manual to Auto GB and 3- adjustable Threshold. Your time in the videos, and writing is well earned and appreciated my friend.

Minelab 540 is better than equinox? I don't think so .... because 540 is a lower level. i'm stopping at nocta skore 2. if i have time to search further, i'll buy a spectrum 3 from whites. this metal detector finds coins 60 cm in the ground. i watched a test, but the company is no longer there. you can find a used one.

I prefer Manual SENS around 7 or 8, Soil Timing NORMAL, almost always run a Threshold. Prefer no headphones, but when really windy or nearby running water, will go headphones to block out Ambiant noise. I do see improvements to small gold with the CoilTek 10" Ellip but usually run stock 11" MONO. I have many gold specimens and some all gold pieces that do not respond to GPX-6000 in DIFFICULT Timing. I also have gold that NROMAL goes deeper than DIFFICULT. At the same time, some sites have so many Hot Rocks than NORMAL is almost impossible and DIFFICULT is best. No magic Setting gets them all.

I've owned the Minelab Manticore since release and have owned the M8 coil since last Fall. I'm fairly new to using a metal detector for gold prospecting. But I've done it long enough and used a fair amount of different detectors (both PI and VLF) to recognize when something special comes along. For gold prospecting enthusiasts seeking a powerful tool to uncover gold nuggets, the Minelab Manticore equipped with the M8 coil stands out as a excellent choice. Slightly different from Multi IQ, the Minelab Manticore uses Multi-IQ+ technology. Similar to Multi IQ, Multi IQ+ simultaneously utilizes multiple frequencies, ranging from low to high, this technology is particularly advantageous in gold prospecting, where varying ground conditions and target sizes demand precision and adaptability. I'm not going to pretend I know what the difference is between Multi IQ and Multi IQ+ is, but there's definitely something different going on inside the Manticore vs the Equinox 800/900. I think one obvious advantage of Multi IQ+ is ground handling and the ability to separate targets from ground signal. Equipped with the M8 coil, the Minelab Manticore is finely tuned for gold prospecting in challenging terrains. The compact size of the coil allows for exceptional maneuverability in tight spaces, such as rocky crevices and densely vegetated areas where gold nuggets may hide. At the same time you have fairy good ground coverage with the M8 coil. Also, the M8's sensitivity allows a person to find even the smallest gold nuggets with confidence. One of the greatest challenges in gold prospecting is overcoming the effects of highly mineralized or alkaline soils, which can mask small gold nuggets and produce false signals. The Minelab Manticore offers a range of ground balancing options, including automatic, manual and tracking modes, allowing you to adapt to changing soil conditions and maintain maximum sensitivity to small gold nuggets. I'm not a big fan of tracking ground balance because I've experienced both small and deep targets being tracked out on previous metal detectors. However, with the Manticore I've had little issues with either of the above and use ground tracking with confidence. In the places I hunt, alkaline soil and hot rocks offer unique challenges for VLF metal detectors. Coil knock and constant ground noise are some of the most common. The Manticore is still challenged with coil knock, so coil control is essential when using it in rocky terrain. Ground noise on the other hand, the Manticore seems to handle quite well compared to the Equinox and other SMF detectors I've used in the past. With the Manticore ground noise is more of a background annoyance that's easily decerned from a gold nugget or other small target. Identifying gold targets amidst a sea of hot rocks and other metal objects is essential for successful prospecting. The Manticore offers precise target identification capabilities, thanks to its customizable discrimination settings, expanded target ID range and 2D target trace. By fine-tuning discrimination levels and analyzing both target ID and 2D screen readings, you can easily distinguish between hot rocks, ferrous and non-ferrous targets, prioritizing ferrous signals for efficient recovery. A person wouldn't think the 2D screen would be much use when gold nugget hunting. But on the contrary it's become one of my favorite features of the Manticore. Shallow targets generally trace right on the center line, deeper targets trace just above the lower ferrous limits or just below the upper ferrous limits depending on depth and soil mineralization. The expanded target ID range is another welcome improvement over the Equinox 800. With the 800 most small gold had a target ID of 1 or 2 which also encompassed small foil and other tiny non ferrous targets. The Manticore on the other hand with it's expanded target ID range makes it easier to decern between small gold and other unwanted small items such as foil and small bird shot. That being said I've had nuggets under .20 grams come in anywhere from 1-9 so you still need to be carful. But with an area loaded with an item such as small foil that generally ID's at 1-2, you can cherry pick to some extent and still find small nuggets. I've really enjoyed the Manticore the 100 or so hours I've had it out gold prospecting and feel like it's the perfect companion to your favorite PI. The settings on the Manticore I start out with when I get to a site are: Gold prospecting mode, prospecting theme, sensitivity 19, recovery 6, stock ferrous limits, stock disc pattern (horseshoe off), ground balance tracking. I then make adjustments when necessary which can include raising/lowering sensitivity, raising/lowing recovery, using fixed ground balance, notching out hot rocks or running the horseshoe on. What no Swingy Thingy?

To buy or not to buy? There is just one more day left to take the plunge. For me being 73 yet still going strong it boils down to do I really need another detector? My 800 with all coils and bells and whistles has been idling in the corner since the Deus 2 arrived. And now with the impending storm on the horizon it makes the dropping the hammer decision on the Manticore even harder....

Avantree relay are so reasonable for price also. Even if you didn’t like them it would not be a big deal with their low price point. Transmitters usually last since they are attached to the control box, but most Bluetooth headphones are not ruggedized so don’t spend to much money on them because they break to easy.

Second year having fun searching for Gold & tranquillity. — First Year using a detector (Fisher Gold Bug Pro) and getting prepare for my first trip. Happy to find this community and hope to contribute... When testing the detector, I remark that passing over a gold target in “All Metal Mode” raises the “Fe3O4” levels significantly. I checked with silver & gold targets, and it’s obvious that it is the target itself and not the mineralization (targets are placed 2 feet apart on the same sandy soil. MY QUESTION _________________________________________ I thought the “Fe3O4” levels would rise only on a metal target, not gold???? — (I also test a metal target in the same condition...) I think a detector that doesn’t see the small ferrous metal would be more to my liking than one with a discriminator. I’ve noticed with the GPX 5000 in the fine gold timing, at times will balance out rotten rusty nails and metal can pieces, seeing it as ground mineralization. Cut out the small iron so I don’t have to hear it and I’m good. The larger iron is easy enough to dig and the non ferrous targets are small in number and at times valuable. These need to come out of the ground anyway due to the possibility of them masking gold.

That guy is not metal detecting , it's aerobics.😆 Moving fast , swinging twice as fast ~ 15% coverage and in a hurry to find all those goldies in one 2 hour day. We have them here too. Sometimes I just sit down and watch if there's a rock or drift log handy . Neck deep isn't very far out for me ! But my one size fits all waders come up that high ! Would probably cover my nose if my crotch didn't stop 'em 🥸 My 800 is 4 years old and I'm kinda submerge shy with it too. Wading , an occasional wave might soak it but I have a micro fiber tissue for that LOL. Another camp trip coming up too ? That place will have some treasarrrr for ya fer sure ! 🏴‍☠️ I'm moved back over to camping now. Nothing worth mentioning so far . Found out about a disc golf course that is gone now but I know where it was.........maybe today before the monsoons return. Jeeeeze Tampa That sounds perfect for getting all the depositors (even the oldies and locals) out on the beach showing off and losing their finest summah yellah ! Terrible situation !
