Dilek

Over the year I’ve paid a lot more for a lot less than what you’re offering on the Simplex .

At that price you can’t beat it with a stick and should be jumping on it with both feet.

Simply said What a great price.

Very unbelievable price indeed.

Now the question is performance.

Competition is good.

With that price point, wow.

Looks like a fantastic detector. I am guessing that my Makro Gold Kruzer audio adapter cable for wired headphones and Nokta/Makro green wireless headphones will work with the Simplex.

I REALLY enjoyed the commercial!!!!!!!!!

In comparison to some detectors I’ve put money out for one I could have walked out the door with two . This is like buying one and getting one free .

Between Equinox coming from above and Simplex from below the U.S. manufacturers are now caught in a vise-grip. I'd be more sympathetic were it not their own complacency that put them there. Basically this is just a 12 kHz single frequency detector so off the shelf circuit for First Texas, Garrett, and White's. Put pricing aside and it's the innovation in design and ergonomics that is setting these folks apart. Price this the same as the $749 MX Sport and I would still buy this. That's how bad it has gotten in my opinion.

Not great news for people with used detectors - prices are going down fast.

Steve

You said a mouthful but you called it right.

Some may not like it but the truth always hurts.

This is fantastic news for anyone new to the hobby, the price point for such a good detector is brilliant.

For me it seems to be the perfect wife machine ?  She'd like the look of it and all the fancy features.  I like the light on it too.

Garrett is going to get a shock to their system that's for sure, the Ace series is going to fade away into history possibly like a few manufacturers if they don't get back into the game with something good really quickly.

Now it's time for Nokta to get back to work on a PI gold detector.

Marketing muscle matters and lots of people still have never heard of Nokta/Makro. Garrett in particular is a marketing powerhouse. The deal they cut with Duracell to feature a Garrett... brilliant. Machines like this will certainly help change that for NokMak however. Simplex is a word of mouth type unit at that price. Seriously, if anyone was asking about a detector for $254 how could anyone who knows about it not mention the Simplex? And it really does go head to head with more expensive machines. I’d not touch a Garrett AT with a ten foot pole compared to one of these. It out features the $649 AT Max and is going to be easier on the wrist.

I knocked the Idea around to find a Tesoro Silver Sabre or Eldorado, some thing in the 10-12khz range, so I could have something not too expensive to throw in the trunk, just in case. And if it gets stolen somehow I'm not out the price of an Equinox 800. After researching, I purchased a used Simplex+. I think it will fill the bill nicely!
      I asked Notka/Makro if there was more selection on coils available. I got an email back;

      Dear Randy,
Thanks for showing interest in our product.
Simplex compatible only with SP28 Search coil (11''). In the near future, we are planning to launch more coils for Simplex.
Hopefully, the product will be added to the accessories soon.
      Best regards!

What I’m wondering if I haven’t updated the 2.76 yet can I just update 2.77 and is 2.76 included in it ?
I can’t find my answer on the net so I was in hope someone here knows .

Not sure what the issue might be, but, when I use the pinpointer it seems fine, other times, it will detect a Target, go back over it a while later, and it won't. Volume can differ on same target. Sent a video to nokta, they say it looks ok. Have been told also it's sounds like a ground balance issue. Thoughts please!

I have seen absolutely no info on the smaller coil for the Simplex? If all still quiet after this time, I will take for granted that those of us that purchased the Simplex after being lead to believe accessory coils were in the works were just screwed.
      Lesson learned.

Hi, does anyone have older versions of Nokta Simplex + software? And wants to share with other members of this forum?
    • By cjc
These newest two updates add a lot to the Simplex's already great performance. The new Park 1 one mode was awesome--very clean audio that gave a nice centered high tone on coins. Kind of reminded me of the Anfibio in how it brought up the round, solid objects really well. Actually had to turn down the Gain but the machine was still getting nice depth. I was working with a pinpointer and used the Mute feature several times to prevent any sounding off. My favorite set of phones were actually too loud on the higher Volume settings settled on "H2". By checking my targets on the cross sweep and in pinpoint for size I was able to dig mostly coins including this '35 King George the 5th cent. This is an amazing detector--and not just "for the price."  It has a lot of punch, great audio and the features to make for pro-level versatility. Can't wait to see how this machine does in the salt water. Great job, Notka Makro!
