  1. I thought arrowheads and coins "on the surface" were exempt under the Antiquities Act? At least that's what it states. Unless they are associated with a "recognized site". I think bullets are listed too? Maybe newer laws?
  2. After looking at it close, it was hit twice with a digging tool. Probably while digging it out of a crevice.
  3. I find a little gold, come home to fried chicken and hot apple pie!! what a day. Steve, 2015 almost over. You better get busy.
  4. Nice little nug today. This one has a pick or tool mark in it.
  5. I was just getting ready to say they were chocolate candy... :-(
  6. A detector that you have to "warm up" for 15 to 20 minutes?? I thought you only had to do that to older(prior to the 60's)vehicles.....
  7. That BLM ground could be claimed by others??? Unless it's been withdrawn from mineral entry?
  8. On the "old" PI's, it appears there is a transmit and receive loop. Left and right? Or, is it just noting the frequencies? What is the braided loop on the GPZ coil?
  9. If your box is working correctly, clean up when the top 3" is full of gold. Black sands should work themselves out of the riffles. If your riffles fill up with BS, you got problems. I've seen areas where there was so much BS that 2 gallons of material would fill the riffles. I finally had to use a Gold Cube to deal with the BS.
  10. I did that yesterday for 5 hours with the ATX while using the bungie. Both arms tired .....
  11. Must have something wrong with this one? It beeped all the time and stronger when it went over something...
  12. Does the Ace still go Beep, Beep, Beep all the time? Gave one to my mother and it drove her crazy. She was used to the old Whites coinmaster. She put it(the Ace) in the closet and never used it.
  13. Just took my ATX up in the hills today. It got soaking wet but still gave me a nice little piece of 1/10 oz.
  14. Nice find Ron. I'd be hitting that area hard... You're right Mike, I found a 1834 $5 last year and didn't notice that...
  15. Last time I was in Old Town, there were so many "street bums" begging that it was not enjoyable. They were in front of almost every store. How were they this time of the year? There is some interesting history there though.
  16. Maybe a couple of beers for me when I get tired and a bottle of water for the dog...
  17. Yes, as I recall, the early 90's Tesoro models were a single 9 volt.....
  18. No Ron, that is not what I meant. I know how it feels to dig gold and silver coins. There is nothing like it. It is the ultimate feeling. I am happy for him and hope it is not his last "find of a lifetime". But I cringed every time he stuck that, what shall I call it, a small shovel, in the ground!!! Especially after I saw how close he was to the coins. What if one of those $20 gold coins were a 1866S in EF condition and you hit it? That date is a possibility. There goes a $15,000 coin. I'm not sure what having a new machine has to do with it? Couldn't anyone double check the locations before digging? Especially when you could see the danger of hitting a valuable coin.... But, in the excitement, maybe nobody saw the danger. In any case, that was a great video. The only thing that could have made it better would be if there had been another 100 coins. (maybe there was?)
  19. The GB2 will hear my cell phone too. I always like to carry a phone in case of emergencies so I drop it in my backpack. No problems there.
  20. Nice video and good, good coins. Those only come around once in a while. I must say though, several of those coins were dug up ON THE EDGE OF THE HOLE!!! (One even outside the hole) Better pinpointing is in order.
