  1. JP's tips and advice. This tech paper and some of the manual make the most sense to me. I have totally wiped the memory slate clean of the GPX and have started reborn with the GPZ. With experience comes knowledge. I read, read, read. Try to absorb. Then apply it with hands on. Thank you Steve, JP and all with the helpful knowledge.
  2. Makes me wonder why this didn't comenout with the owners manual. And with this technical paper, there is not much need for the manual. Except for the mapping aspect.
  3. For nuggetshooting. What are your favorite headphones? Features, price, sound quality,durability.....???? I'm thinking about some Black Widow's or Grey Ghost....
  4. When is bought the sdc2300. I didn't have a cover at first. So I bought some 4" wide Gorilla tape, self sticking Velcro, and the non slip rug underlayment. It worked very well. Wasn't the most beautiful (like Klunker) but very effective in protecting the machine.
  5. I like looking for old things. Like Fossils. I found this old fossil in my area named Klunker. I always ask him for advice. But I think he sends me on wild goose chases.
  6. Well. Going for dowsing rods. Lol. If you are ever at the Forks of the Salmon. Tell my friends at the store. Mark and Peggy hello.
  7. You live in a beautiful area. Nice gold. Welcome aboard.
  8. I don't know anything about these detectors. But I do want to sit around a few campfires with Nugget Bob.
  9. Im all for a JP locked thread. Where he can give us straight up insight and tips. Without the negativity and wingnuts crying for a wambulance. It is good to have constructive criticism. But it seems to go further than that at times. Thanks JP for all you do.
  10. The Minelab go find 20-40-60 detectors are up on Kellyco http://www.kellycodetectors.com/minelab/#P1
  11. I have some Danner hikers. Metal eyelets. Never bothered the GPX5000. Just wondering how they might react to the GPZ7000?
  12. Where can one purchase metal free boots? And how many of you detectorists wear them?
  13. Pinpointing with the GPZ7000. How is the Zed at pinpointing? Any major or subtle differences with the Super D coil?
  14. How was the speaking engagement last night? A receptive audience?
  15. Norm, Did a internet search. I wish I could help more. But maybe this is a lead for you? http://www.hearingfrequencytest.com/ http://www.treasureproducts.com/index.html
  16. Minelab is reading this. Us clients, need to have them on the red phone hotline. We need accessories that work well for us. That work for our bottom line as well as theirs. What works in the bush of Australia might not work so well in the mountains of Northern California. We need well designed product's for us.
  17. Free updates only. A micro sd card slot would have been nice to transfer data from gps. We are in the age of less expensive technology. Except for minelab metal detectors.
  18. Yep. Cavemen, indians, aborigines all hopped down to the corner BC Kwiki mart and loaded up on electrolytes and Gatorade. All comes down to common sense.
  19. Chief Klunker, That statement right there spoke volumes with me.
  20. Well there is no I in TEAM. But there is META in METAL Detector. You have to be a team player with your detector. You have to feel and listen to what information it feeds you. You have to give it what it needs. Putting it over the right kind ground to have success on. You members on the forums ,clubs, groups and other fellow detectorists are like coaches .Giving and trading information with you to help prep your gameplan. You , yourself has to study the game film. Find the strategy that works. Get boots and coils on the ground. Find the right field to swing successfully in. Swing with confidence. And sometimes you need to need to part ways with your old teammate. You need to make a trade. Trade up to the new young prospect. The one that gives you the best chance to win. Or do you keep the old veteran? The one you have won with for years. So swing like a champion today!
  21. I don't even know if it is feasible. I was just wondering how a triangular shaped coil would work. I know nothing about making a coil or what it takes to make one work. Nor do I care to, as long as it works. Just seems that a triangle shape could get into some nooks and crannies that other shapes couldn't.
  22. Well I sold the sdc 2300, sold my dredge. I still have my gpx 5000 with all of my coils.I have the Deus. Was planning on getting the gpz 7000. But the jury is still out on that. It is still early in the game for me to decide to make a run for it or not. I've always been 2-3 years behind on detector technology. From everything I have absorbed into my thick noggin, the 7000 is a superior machine to the 5000. But is it almost twice as much money better? I think that is for you to decide. So if I decide to... Well I'm go have eat my spinach, drink my ovaltine , and whole heartedly jump into it with both feet. Have no looking back and no regrets. No woulda, coulda, shoulda!!!!
