  1. Welcome to the forum and will be looking forward to your finds. Love to read about the hunt and seeing all the nice finds. Good luck and good hunting out there, stay safe.
  2. Great finds and glad that you were able to save them. Good luck on your next outings.
  3. Great save on the turtle, and very nice shell. That makes a very good week in it self, and there will always be days or weeks that there is nothing to find with the detector. Good luck on your next hunt and try closer to the shore line. Stay safe out there.
  4. Nice finds and glad that you saved the leaf. Good luck on your next outing.
  5. I have seen items like that made by some of the Indians that travel the country for area Pow-Wow's. They make several at a time and sell them under a tent around the camp, and make some while the people are looking at the wares they have to sell. Some of these Indians are from places from around the US and Hawaii. They are hard to clean at times due to the amount of copper in them, but the silver cleans up nicely.
  6. Glad that you were able to walk away with something at least. Hope you next outing goes better.
  7. Thanks for sharing the story, as it shows that there is good people all around the world.
  8. Thanks for the nice review and an honest opinion on this detector. For now I think I will stay with the 800 NOX that I have and in the near future get something else.
  9. Glad to see the gold again after so many years I bet. You may need to get your girl a better detector and let her help find some more. I don't thik that anyone here would say a word about you hiding a couple of nuggets for her to find. Good luck on your next outing and stay safe out there.
  10. If you are using the same coils that came with the detector, then I suggest going with a new coil. Sometimes all it takes is a different coil to improve the recoveries.
  11. When metal detecting the only charge that you will find is when you pull out a great find from the ground. That is the only charge you can get.
  12. Thanks for that information, when grandfather was around he never taught me that. It wasn't around that long when he made it so it was always fresh. Yes I know that even the best of us make spelling mistakes from time to time and just thought it was funny when you pointed it out with Goldseeker. I wasn't trying to upset you with what I said, only to joke around with you.
  13. I forgot about the canned fish in the SUV, I should really change it out as it has been there a few years. I think the moonshine only gets better with age, so I will keep it where it is.
  14. Reg, did you mean to say , We have perhaps more than our share of idiots here, or do you just like to be the classroom spelling teacher? Don't knock the can of fish until you tried it, as it does have a pretty good taste the way it is made. Please don't take any offense to this correction, but I just wanted it to be fair.
  15. When I do get a chance to hunt I stay as long as I can if I am finding anything. It is only about a few hours long and then I have to get back home to get some more work done.
  16. When I ground balance my 800 I always pick 3 spots to do it at. That way I have a good chance of not hitting trash and since I always hunt in areas that I know I can tell which area is more accurate. When you are above trash it always gives problems right off the bat on the detector. It will be iffy signals on items in the ground for sure, so try at least 2 areas to balance at. I also ground balance several times when hunting for a few hours just to give me the best possible chance to find the good stuff.
  17. Welcome to the forum and glad to have you with us. Love to read a good hunt and enjoy the photos of the finds also. Good luck and good hunting.
  18. Well I have eaten a good bit of Roo several times and a few lizards also. Very good with the right person cooking them, the lizard is best over a camp fire with a little salt pepper and garlic. Yes I have been to your country once for about 2 months for work.
  19. So what you are saying is that the people down there like it so much they are eating more than they should, and they don't have manners to put their waste in a proper container.
  20. Well do you know just how much it cost to ship those kangaroos to where I live? I can get 3 cows for the shipping cost alone and they taste better than the roo's.
  21. I think that the Manitcore has helped him out a lot, as he is really getting some nice finds using it. The swing was something I didn't think about, but will see if his totals keep rising.
  22. When I go out to do some serious detecting or panning for gold I always get a little hungry and grab the old jerky. I would like to see if anyone else does this and if so share your recipes so others might like it. I will pick up a nice ribeye and have it sliced about an 1/8 inch thick and smoke it for a few minutes on the grill. Then I will marinade it in a teriyaki sauce from my local restaurant over night. They have the best Chinese food around. Then place into the dehydrator and leave until done. I found this to be really good and fast with friends eating most of it. Remember to have plenty of water along to stay hydrated.
  23. Nice hunt with a good ratio of coins to pull tabs. Good luck on your next hunt.
  24. Very nice finds and glad you were able to save them. Grandfather always sat on a chair that he made to pan. It was an odd size of seat but it kept him from being cramped up with his knees. Good luck on your next hunt and don't give up on panning.
  25. Well I for one will call you Rosie, because I just don't believe the "cent", "nickel", "silver", and "gold" story.
