  1. I like detecting just as the next person on here, but I intend to survive first. May the slower man have the bear.
  2. Thanks for the videos, and thanks for sharing the testing. They were interesting to watch and I think that I may have learned something from them. Good luck on your next hunt and stay away from sharks and crocks.
  3. Welcome to the forum and glad to have you here. When you have a chance to share some of your stories and finds with us please do so as we would enjoy seeing them.
  4. Great save for the lady and thanks for being so nice in this cold weather to do it.
  5. Wish I could get out there to hunt for a while, between working and cold weather I just haven't had a chance. The past 2 days have been bad with 12 inches of snow and an inch of ice that mad power go out. We are expecting the power back on sometime next week, so for now we are using the wind generator and a few solar panels. I hope you have better luck on your next hunt.
  6. Looks to be from southern Indiana, that area has some very nice creeks to pull from. Good catch on your friends part and I am sure it took him a few trips to get that.
  7. Great looking nuggets in such a small area, I believe that I would be looking at higher ground to find where they came from. Good luck and good hunting.
  8. Nice hunting, what were you using to find them? As others have stated, you can wear extra clothes to stay warm, or you can just carry a little moonshine to warm you up. Good luck on your next hunt.
  9. Welcome to the forum and hope your new location will bring you luck. What area are you planning to move to as there are some really great areas there. Good luck and please share some finds with us sometime.
  10. That's great news, and I found that if someone else is detecting your area that your in just nick his leg just enough to draw a little blood and watch how fast the sharks help you out. Just remember to lay low for a little while as they clean up the mess.
  11. A neighbor has not had any cell service where he lives, so when Star Link came about he installed the system in his area. He now has all his trail cameras tied to the internet powered by solar. He has never had a camera stolen after the signs went up with the system. I really hope that you catch the scum that has been stealing from you.
  12. I did not know about the warranty on the other units and after I had looked at the Time Ranger Pro it seems it may be something to think about. I am partial to the Equinox 800 that I got from my late grandfather. I actually got both of my detectors from him and I do use them both depending on what I am looking for. Just make sure that if you plan to go into the water the entire unit is waterproof.
  13. Nice hunting with a great find for you, what settings were you using on the Nox.
  14. Great post with some very nice pictures. I enjoyed every line and glad that you have come back to this hobby. Last year I did not get to get out there much, and I haven't had a chance this year so you got me beat already. Good luck and keep the posts coming.
  15. JN, Welcome to the forum and a nice find to start the year off right. Sorry for your loss and I know that she will be with you in spirit as you are hunting and guiding your swing to the targets. Good luck and God Bless You.
  16. Good job on finding the coins, but I know you can do better than that. Get back out there tomorrow and get the rest of them and a few dimes that you missed. Good job and happy hunting.
  17. With all the rules and new laws that are in place one would have to be nuts to even consider it. I will stay out of California as long as possible due to the crazy people there.
  18. John, Welcome to the best forum on the net, and don't let F350 kid you he has a lot of relics and coins that he finds on a couple of farms. Would love to see some of the finds that you have uncovered sometime.
  19. Welcome to the forum and please post some nice pictures of your finds. The relics, the coins, the golden loot that has been long lost is always nice to see. Good luck and good hunting.
  20. TC, welcome to the forum and I hope you post the next big treasure from that part of the world. Love to see some of the beautiful country side of the UK again, and I hope to be there next year. I give you our permission to hang any pirate that you catch from the highest tree near you. Good luck and good hunting.
  21. Dave, Welcome to the forum and glad to see you here. Always nice to read post from new people as long as they show a picture or two of the area. Yes I like to see pictures of different places on a cold winters day. Good luck and good hunting.
  22. Welcome to the forum and we are glad that you are here. Always nice to see a new face come along and ask for advice from some of us here. The BH Tracker IV is a very basic unit, as I do have one myself I can tell you that it works for what it was designed for. First off what is your price range that you want to stay in, as there are many more units out there that will work better than the 2 units you listed. A great unit that I am talking about is the Minelab Vanquish 440 unit that is $279.00 on Amazon. With that said you may find a used one from someone here on the forum for less. There have been many articles on the forum on all these units, so please read them and ask questions. Since I have not used the Time Ranger Pro I will leave that to someone else to answer. I do like the fact that Minelab has a 3 year warranty on their equipment to just 1 year from everyone else. Good luck and happy hunting.
  23. I can answer that question as my grandmother had bought a pair and then decided that she didn't like them. I borrowed them to check them with my 800 and they paired fast, comfortable, and s good if not better than the ML80s. So I give them a thumbs up as now I have 2 pair of headphones to use.
  24. Very nice finds at such a depth to be in great condition. I was talking to a friend in Canada over Zoom and he was outside in just a sweatshirt and shorts. He was saying how nice today was at 20 below, so please tell us again how cold it is there. I am in ILLINOIS and it never got over 30 degrees today, and I thought it was fairly nice out. Just kidding with you, but remember that it is always colder somewhere else where we can't get out to dig in the dirt. Good luck on your next hunt and stay warm.
  25. Great finds for the time you were out there! Good luck on your next outing.
