Great hunt with a lot of history recovered, do you have any idea what size shell the canon would take as it would be functional if it was cleaned up. Good luck on your next outing and try to find a complete tank to guard your house.

I made one from a sleeping bag for the detectors that my grandfather gave me and it has plenty of room for everything. I did make some pockets on the inside to hold my digger, canteen, pin pointer, some emergency snacks, and spare coils. Glad you had some luck for all your troubles and that is a nice tent. I see that you have tie downs below that bottom half of the tent, is there a way to set some anchor places on the top so that it can be tied off better. Sorry to say that I do not use Whites detectors. I have a Tracker IV and a Nox 800 that I got from my grandfather. I am south of Springfield about 50 miles and get out there when I can. I also pan for gold in some of our creeks near here also. Good luck and good hunting.

Those appear to be live rounds, please be careful with them. I have found a few of those before and while taking them apart one of them actually went off. Nobody was hurt and that was when grandfather showed me a safer way to do the job. Glad you didn't damage your truck and was able to continue your hunt. Good luck on your next hunt.

Not a key as the ones grandfather had was over 3 inches long, I would have to say a drawer pull with the holder part missing. Good luck on identifying it.

Just how big is your whatzit in size, as it could be a decorate key like some that I had seen before. They were along the lines of a skeleton key but more fancy. Grandfather had several of them that looked like trees or animals at one time. Looks like you had a great day hunting and I wish you more luck on your next outing.

Thank you very much and when I am out there with his 800 I feel as though he is there guiding me in the right direction. It just seems so natural to use the 800 to find items even on factory settings. I hope to get out there for an entire day soon as I am having some help this next month to take care of my grandmother.

I know that someday I will be finding a lot more with the detector in the future, because the more you use it the better you get. That's what grandfather told me, but I don't know if he was talking about detectors at the time. Grandfather passed away and I have had to step up to take care of things for him, and that includes taking care of grandmother. She is getting worse and I believe that soon she will be going into a nursing home. Even at my younger age there are some things that I can't do for her. She really needs better care than what I can do for her, but until the time comes I will do my best to care for her.
