  1. The Minelab posts were most likely the number of disgruntled buyers of the GPX 6000 & its issues & Minelabs total lack of engaging. D4G
  2. Yes. There are a few blessed people that have that inner "ability". D4G
  3. Is that "normal" from Minelab kind of what we were being told about the GPX 6000 issues people were having when it first came out? D4G
  4. A lot comes down to the operator too & conditions on the day. Some days the stars, moon & the universe all come into line. That doesn't happen very often & you just need to be in the right place at the right time. The universe works in mysterious ways & sometimes just for a select few. That may explain why a few seem to get quite a bit more gold than others. D4G
  5. Gosh... This has gone off topic. Unless the topic just becomes what you decide to post about. After all it is a gold forum not a motorbike forum. D4G
  6. Have to agree with that flakmagnet. I can't believe how people can make such an issue of scales that don't measure down to 100th's of a gram & how inaccurate they are. What's the world coming to? It is like the end goal here is who can find the smallest gold. WTF. That is pretty sad. D4G
  7. A case of Minelab mining the miners/detectorists. D4G
  8. And Todd Hoffman has a great singing voice. Gold in his mouth right there. D4G
  9. Hi Bedrocker. I guess Ghost Miner is referring to the line of discussion/argument. On the Freddy Dodge Gold Prospecting Show thread on page 5. D4G
  10. I am confused at this statement of yours as you say your deepest nuggets since having the 6000 have been with the 12 x 7 & then in the same breath you say, except for two, & they were both found with the Minelab coils. So the 12 x 7 hasn't found your deepest nuggets with the 6000. Sort of contradicting yourself. The 12 x 7 might have found you more deeper nuggets but by your statement, not the deepest. D4G
  11. I find it hard to believe that Jacob made it to 85 with all his heavy drinking & smoking. D4G
  12. Seems Nemo have had an issue with the regulator as I enquired into getting one from an Aussie supplier & they informed there was an issue with the hose line & should have availability in a month or two & would get back to me. Well that never happened & I have since got an Air Buddy which is Aussie made that turned up last week. https://www.airbuddy.com/ Northeast, do you have a Nemo Blu3? I also see that Levi from Tassie Boys Prospecting had issues with his Nemo after hiking it in to a very remote creek. That would have torn his undies. D4G
  13. MMMM. Funny how it is called Pro 6000. Is that piggy backing on the GPX 6000? Unfortunately & sadly it does lean towards being a scam, considering the related Long Range Locator items. D4G
  14. Is that with X coils or the standard ML 14" on your GPZ? D4G
  15. Hi Davsgold. Is that a patch you hadn't had an X coil over on the GPZ 7000? Thanks. D4G
  16. No. I take it as, How long is a piece of string? Kind of the same I guess. D4G
  17. Money talks. That is all Minelab cares about. They don't appear to care about people & us the consumer of "their" products. Their silence is deafening on product quality issues. They are bound by law on warranty replacement but when there are so many continued issues without a peep from minelab, that is a concern. Their PR sucks. D4G
  18. That is very intriguing. I have a mate on the west coast, New Zealand, who went in to an area via helicopter that had no gold history at all. South of Hokitika but north of Haast. He was sworn to secrecy & so couldn't tell me the location. He had got talking to a guy who said his father was in there years ago deer shooting & found a large gold nugget just sitting in a creek he crossed. He had no interest in gold but picked it up as a keep sake. This guys father had a couple of huts in the bush he stayed in on longer hunting forays. This guy was keen to try & find his fathers huts. I think his father had passed away & it was out of interest to him to find his fathers huts. He had a vague idea of the catchments they were in. This guy had no interest in gold either. My mate found the story of the gold nugget hard to believe as the area of its finding wasn't a known gold area. This guy then produced the nugget to my mate. So he was then quite curious on seeing it. The two decided to helicopter in for a week. My mate to go gold detecting & this guy to find his fathers huts, or remains of. Long story short. They took a few days to find the right catchment as they had got dropped off in the wrong one. This guy found one of the huts & my mate then wandered on down the creek & found a bit of gold that he described as a LARGE flake of over one ounce. He was using a Gold Bug Pro. He found other large bits of gold & despite doing heaps of panning & sampling he could find no small flood type gold. I found that very strange, as did he. Your yarn reminded me of that. D4G
  19. Using the throttle only will chew through the battery at a rapid pace. Especially going up hills. Depends how far you have to travel though. The bonus is you don't need the motor going back down. Just have to take it easy on your braking fingers. D4G
  20. I seem to recall an ex member on here, JW, got into an E bike for access to prospecting locations & did a few posts on it. Maybe do a search. He & his mate Phrunt did a few missions on them. Phrunt I think was using JW's wives bike from memory & he may be able to make a comment. I think you will still need a good amount of fitness as an e bike you still have to pedal, the motor just assists & makes it a bit easier. Depends on the steepness of the terrain you will be tackling. If in fairly flattish dessert shouldn't be a problem, but then why would you not just use a quad or motor bike? D4G
