Did you find the Axiom that was sent to you for testing was any different than what Garrett had there for the show and tell?

Being you had the opportunity to talk with Minelab and hold the Manticore I don’t guess anything was said about a release date?

 The Best!

Works continues on the Axiom on tweaking and tuning the product. It’s not my place however to talk about the prototyping process or specifics of what is done along the way. Ultimately all that matters will be the final, finished product. I’m not kidding though, everyone that saw it had nothing but good things to say. Plus I am honestly surprised in general by how large the Garrett community is in Australia.

I was thinking more like spring for Manticore, but looking at what they have now it’s more likely to be by end of year. Maybe. I honestly pay little attention to projections as anything, even a bad decal, can hold an item up. But it’s looking more like sooner than later, fingers crossed.

Thanks for taking your time to reply to my two question. I’m sure the last two days has been a busy and a very vocal one at the same time.

Garrett needs to have you and Gerry at that outing that Garrett is having April of 2023 .

You must admit the flight is not as long as the ones you just made.

It is fantastic to hear the Aussies being receptive to another player in the market, I thought Australia would be a tough nut to crack being rusted onto Minelab but perhaps that's not the case.

Garrett seems to have an excellent product, and I only have good things to say about the quality of Garrett machines, at least for me they've been perfect, 4 detectors and 3 pinpointers and never once needed warranty.

I just had this impression it like Minelab all the way, but there are like 60 Garrett dealers here, and I met plenty of people at the meet who are “Garrett only” types. Very interesting to say the least, as I had imagined the high price as compared to what I see in the U.D. would be a non-starter. Of course the bulk of the sales are more in the Ace and AT class.

View from the Hill End area, at the end of the hill! Gold all the way to the ridge tops. The couple nuggets I found were on other side of the ridge from this photo, just below the road, on the very first mulluck heaps I saw, in the Commons area. No sign of detecting, I think everyone drives down to the main diggings down the hill. This photo is at a little view area, the rock for some reason called “Split Rock”

Reminds me of what it’s like to find gold in Northern California, deep valleys, gold diggings all over the hills.

The hillsides are full of little pits into shallow bedrock pockets, and I pulled my first little bit off this one right below the road. Kind of a slate/shale type of bedrock with some sort of contact zone nearby.

Lots of rain, lots of flooding, main concern today is 8 hour drive to Broken Hill area, hopefully no road closures. We had to take a hour detour yesterday to get to Nyngan, where we overnighted.

Thanks for the pics.
Cut my teeth at Hill End and the surrounding areas. My great great grandfather was the first doctor in Hill End back in the gold rush during the time of the Holterman nugget in a previous post. I always wonder if he got a chance to ogle it.

There is a hill in Hill End named Fischer’s Hill after him.
