A ‘dust iron’ toroid suitable for the HF frequency band (e.g.1–30MHz with an initial permeability of between 6 and 10) has been carefully selected. It is recommended to use this specific Minelab accessory, only. Alternate ferrites may significantly degrade ground balance quality."

Got a feeling as we get a few yards in behind the GPZ, we`ll revert to GB manual when on a patch as per the PIs, more so when retrieving those smallies. But patch hunting with the GPZ in auto GB, it appears to be much better than the PIs in that respect, not knocking the PIs. But I believe for the newcomer leave it as is at first, there is no need to change from its default until you have the feel.
