  1. Yeah Riccardo, The US has some of those nonsensical rules like the 50 year cutoff! Funny thing is, I never have, or heard about, anyone returning there pre-1972 coins to their state! I think they should be in shock, or embarrassed, if I handed over a 1971 coin, and called it historical! More like hysterical!!???
  2. Hello Jim, And Thank You!! for your service! What an incredible place to retire too! Gotta be a story with that! What kind of treasures do you find, and how are detecting laws there? Good luck!!⛩??
  3. Welcome Dave, Hope you enjoy the forum! And I've heard detecting and mining in Colorado can be tough, due to all the restrictions! Maybe sometime you can explain that a little to us uninformed! Good luck!!???
  4. Hello FT, Glad you found the forum! I just escaped Palm Beach County for greener pastures, so I'm a happy digger! What kind of treasures do you hunt, and what are you swinging!! Good luck out there!!??
  5. Hello Jason, Welcome back! I see you have been here for a good while! Show and tell us what goodies you have been digging!!??
  6. Hello Andy, Glad to have you and your awesome found treasures here on the forum! Would love to see those pics! Hope you find some good info and friends here; I know I have!!??
  7. Hello AD, Just did a move myself, but only a few hours North! Brought wayyy to much junk with me!? Anyway welcome to the forum, and good hunting around your new digs, when you get there!!??
  8. Welcome Dasbear, Beautiful state you have there! Many of us have taken "breaks" from detecting! Mine was 30+ years! Wish it had only been 3+ like you! I missed alot! Good luck with whatever you decide to buy! Used is a great way to save some coin!??
  9. Hello Dave, Always happy to see you Mapleleaf's here! Hope to see some of the stuff you find up there!!???
  10. Welcome JN, Glad to see you here on the forum! Now go get those relics; and silver!!??
  11. So basically, all thing being equal! We still seem to be, as before, at a VLF's limit in mineralized soil! Not surprising i suppose! So comes down to price and feature set of the newest VLF's! And of course, brand preferences! Since both Equinox and Deus have a following of core users, I'd expect price won't be as much of an issue for Deus 1 users!! Same will probably be said when a new Equinox comes to market!!??
  12. Deep hi conductor seemed best on both dimes! Vdi seemed more stable than the Nox! And yeah, as Simon stated; that one inch definitely has an effect! Would like to find a video of same setup in Culpepper Va. As a comparison for very mineralized soil! Anybody seen one yet? I can't be critical of anybody that takes the time to make videos! Thanks for the info!??
  13. Nice red circuit board! Can I get a clear housing!! Or in the words of Henry Ford; you can order any color you want, as long as it's black!???
  14. There were some old army barracks nearby in the forty's! And before that it was a cow pasture!??
  15. I've been absent from detecting for awhile, due to moving, and all the "joys" that come with that! Today was only my second time out in the yard, and immediate area since than! I was using my Vanquish, and decided to try my new backyard a bit! I had only tried my driveway, and a few small areas near the house a few weeks ago, with only some clad and zincoln's to show for it! But today was better! No silver yet, but along with a few other 60's and 70's coins in the area, I hit on a large "spill" of wheat pennies! Interesting, as I've never found so many in one small area, and my house was built in 81' but the neighborhood goes back into the 40's! It took the better part of an hour, but I came away with 38 in about a 4-5 sf area! They are pretty encrusted, but I'm in the process of cleaning them! If there are any left, the V8 coil didn't find them! But they were anywhere between 2 and 8 inches down, so I will go over the area again with the V10, and other detectors! In the mean time, no need to worry about any competition, as they were in my yard after all! Now, if only I can find a silver spill like that!!??? Update: That's as good as there gonna get! Apparently, my yard likes to eat it's Wheaties!!?
  16. Welcome to the forum Neal, Glad you found us! Varminting is something I haven't seen on here before! Do you use dogs or some type of ferrets to catch them? Seen a few shows about it here in the states; interesting! Hope it goes well with detecting those found varmint spots, you never know! Good luck!??
  17. Welcome to the forum TK! Glad to have you! Hope your enjoying the new detector! You'll have to post some info for the rabid readers here! Good luck!!??
  18. Welcome Gary, Sounds like your near my "recently moved to" neck of the woods!! I'm in Melbourne! Glad you found the forum! And hope to see you around, after I get some of my new "honey do" list completed! ??
  19. Welcome to the forum John, So sorry for the loss of your wife!!?? And the Covid!! But very happy you found us here! How long have you been swinging a coil, and what detector did you find that lucky Rosie with? Hope the detecting luck deals you a Royal Flush this year!??
  20. I would love to see them pick up where Tesoro left off! That segment, to me, is often overlooked as too simplistic to continue building! But there is still a healthy market for old Tesoro's!??
  21. Simon, Sorry to hear that you have a hole and trash leaver; damn Yanks!? Seriously though, the "treasure" shows are probably partly to blame for them, and others taking advantage in the low end market! I figure this will work itself out in the long run! but in the meantime, it's making them money! At least your ground assassin's are few and far between!??
  22. Great job Joe, Considering all that transpired last year! Here's wishing you a banner, and safe 2022!??
  23. Nokta Detectors, Phrunt means well (as do many others), and is defending your decision to naysayers, I'm sure! Everyone does with what information they have to work with at the time, so some assumptions will have room to be made when all the facts aren't presented in a complete format, as you have now given us! Thanks for the summation, and we will all try and be more cognizant of what we all say!???
