  1. Wow, you guys have "created" the perfect gold detector!! I truly hope it comes close to everyone's wish list!! I'm rooting for a realistically priced gold machine from Garrett, with possibly a few surprises/ inovations, that allow for expansion into a new direction! Anything more would be icing on the cake!! Go Garrett!πŸ€πŸ€ž What can I say, I'm a simple man! My wife is still discovering just how much!!πŸ€ͺπŸ‘πŸ‘
  2. Simon, I think you are right on the money with that statement! MineLab obviously figured out a long time ago, that gold detectors are where the money is! So who knows why FT went the way they did! At least we have GarrettπŸ‘, who is well aware of where their money is to be made! So one US detector company ain't bad; i guess!!😞
  3. I have mixed feelings on this detector now! Having not owned one due to the restrictive release, among other things, i trust Joe Beechnut OBN's opinion, as he is probably the best example of how well it can work! (not problem free, of course) On the other hand, Steve H's opinion as to poor construction, and sketchy operation is equally as valid! So knowing both of these as basically "the facts" now, how is it that the problems/issues found with extensive use by enough avid user's hasn't been fixed, or at least announced in some kind of regular press release, forum post, or Freudian slip, by those involved in it's design and construction! Granted, there seems to be a "fine tolerance line" for no information/updates; (ML)! And too much information/updates;(NM)! We are apparently a fickle bunch!πŸ€ͺ But the designers of the AQ Ltd are some heavy hitters, and should have had no problem fixing the "found" issues with the AQ, and at least let some information out, as to it's status! Maybe I'm the one missing something somewhere, as I can't keep up with them all!! But, from the start of it, thought that they were approaching it's release in a novel way, and were well on their way to a great water machine; and others! 🀞 But, "The best-laid plans"..... we all know the rest!πŸ‘πŸ‘
  4. Never knew about your island and it's history, till you started posting about it! Thanks for the geography lesson, and some cool finds, and pics!! Keep up the good work!πŸ€πŸ‘πŸ‘
  5. Nice post you got going here GS!! And I hope you find many more nuggets at bedrock! I gotta say your gold hunting is much more work, and more hazardous than us beach/park guys, but it's that much more rewarding, and beautiful country! Sorry to hear about the red tape BS! It permeates everything "detecting" these days!!😡 You keep your head on a swivel for two, and four legged "critters"! I only have to watch out for the two legged variety here!!πŸ€£πŸ€πŸ’°πŸ‘πŸ‘
  6. I've watched some of his stuff too! Pretty entertaining characters, and interesting areas he hunts! Better than some of the TV programs on the hobby! Not to take away from his skills, but I respectfully disagree with some of his ratings order! (shockerπŸ˜‚)! But applaud the effort!πŸ‘ Besides, we all have a hard enough time comparing two detectors, and getting a consensus! So no shock that ten could cause a massive ruckus, if we took it too seriously!!πŸ€£πŸ‘πŸ‘
  7. Very nice hunt compass! Glad your staying relatively cool around the water!πŸ₯΅ Good jewelry is getting tougher to find! And here, with little erosion, recent drops are not much for quality anymore! But you got some decent ones! Keep plugging away! And as always, good luck, and be safe!πŸ€πŸ‘πŸ‘
  8. I was actually looking for an "eyeballπŸ‘" find on your paper towel display!! Darn!πŸ˜΅πŸ‘πŸ‘
  9. Looks perfect for "between the root" areas, and rock/paver/ sidewalk crevices! I've snapped a screwdriver or two on those spots! And a good way to injure yourself!πŸ€• A screwdriver is also very inefficient removing the soil in tight areas, and can gouge coins horribly! Quality looking work! Great job!!πŸ‘πŸ‘
  10. You can also try powdered cayenne pepper! Pretty cheap for a large container, won't hurt the grass, or animals! But it is an irritant, and should deter animals from the spots! Water your plug, then sprinkle! Will last until a rain or sprinkler washing!πŸ‘πŸ‘
  11. Great story, and thankfully a happy ending! I'm guessing she will now be leaving the ring at home, or at least, secure it before doing anything else!πŸ‘πŸ‘
  12. Maybe not a great finds day, but I am happy about your advancement with the Deus 2, and always impressed with how you approach your permissions! Keep up the good work!! And i want to give a big "shout out" to your wife🌺, for being so accommodating to your hobby!!πŸ€πŸ‘πŸ‘
  13. For some reason I'm tasting garden hose and propane!? Oh well, should be fine!!πŸ€”πŸ‘πŸ‘
  14. That three piece medal is super interesting! Hope it cleans up enough to make out some details! Great day, I'm jealous!πŸ€πŸ‘πŸ‘
  15. At least you missed running into any bull sharks in the water!!🦈😳 If you get really desperate for coins, you can always do a little plumbing to recover your penny! And if you reach into the campground toilets........😜JK I think the 10x5 on the Nox, and your familiarity with it, will net you at least a few more coins! No place is ever completely hunted out! Just be careful, and don't cook yourself! Getting a little warm out there!πŸ€πŸ‘πŸ‘
  16. And next year, it will be "glad I have five, or six detectors now" and so on, and so on....🀣 Well, now that you have cleared out most all the modern finds and trash, it's time to get down to those nice old finds, and trash!⛏ πŸ€πŸ‘πŸ‘
  17. Got you two characters on my most wanted wall now! I'll PM where to send any good finds!!πŸ˜πŸ‘πŸ‘
  18. So much for removing them, so they don't come off in the water😬!! Oh well, saved you from getting wet!! Nice job on the rings, and rechecking them holes!!πŸ‘πŸ‘
  19. Great thinking "outside" the scoop, for inside the scoop!!!πŸ‘πŸ‘
  20. Great, and timely topic! Thanks for all the useful information! Bears repeating every year! Dont forget the pets; just got the two shot lyme preventative for my dogs, now that I live in the "woods"! Now when does the human version come out??πŸ‘πŸ‘Ž?
  21. Thanks GB, Good to know for the Zombie Apocalypse! (Butter may be hard to get though!) πŸ˜‚ But for now, I will leave it for you, and F350😜, cows, moonshiners, and ethanol makers, to name a few uses!πŸŒ½πŸ‘πŸ‘ β˜†And BTW, Just so I'm not off subject, corn is used in many plastics, and lubricants that may be used in Metal Detectors!!😁
  22. Great looking ring! Alot of detail for a little silver! Post a "cleaned up" pic! Also that coin is cool, never see those my way!πŸ‘Œ Nice to see the AT Pro out! Need to dust mine off too, as i have the most time on it of any of my detectors! Still a great machine! And the junk always tells a good story on it's own!πŸ‘πŸ‘
  23. Awsome group of finds; as usual!! And great learning how both detectors, and a friend, function there! And the corn is looking good! Too bad it's not people corn! Short but good run, as now the growth, and heat/humidity will be running you off those fields! Still always other places to go, and research to be done! And oh yeah, that "honey do" list!! 🀣 Great Job!! πŸ‘πŸ‘
  24. So know we know at least two good reasons why locksmithing began! πŸ‘πŸ‘
