  1. If you are in this price range, I think the Equinox 600 would be the one to pick.
  2. Thanks, this is just my park/lawn rig. When I'm out in the bush, I carry my deep & dirty rig, the Dirt Devastator 5000! ๐Ÿ˜†
  3. I had to switch from belt pouches because the always slide off of me. (Gluteus Minimus) So I went to an across the chest sling pouch. It works great in the parks for me and carries a suprizing amount of stuff.
  4. Well I hope you mend soon, Jeff, but thank you for the clarification of your F2=0 comment in that other thread. I have read through many other threads about iron bias on the Nox and my take away was just leave it in the factory setting of F2=6. I had played around with dropping it down to F2=4 a few times but didn't think it was making much difference in our Rocky Mountain park soil so I bumped it back to F2=6. Today I went back to the last park I hunted a few days ago. It had a lot of modern clad fairly deep (4-6"), but I had only dug one nickel (1999) and 2 copper memorial pennys. I made it a point to hit the same areas I hit before just to see if I missed anythying but this time I ran my Park 2 with FE2=0 and today I found 6 nickels (1994-1977) and 7 copper memorials (1982-1964), most of which were 5-6 inches down. One of those nickels and a couple of the pennys were at 8 inches deep and I remember passing on many of those before because they just didn't sound good enough to me to dig. Today, the only iffy signal that I dug anyway, was a nickel next to a penny and a torn up Matchbox car. All of the clad coins sounded correct at depth and the pultabs did too, which I dug just to make sure. So thank you Jeff, F2=0 made an obvious difference for me. Now I have to go back and check some of the other places where I know I've passed on some deep iffy targets. Cheers, Rich.
  5. Hi Jeff, can you elaborate this? I've been hunting a park that has almost all coin targets at 6" and deeper. I usually run F2 at 6 so I'm curious what it does to the audio response at depth.
  6. I too have not had a problem with any of my coils, but I don't hunt in water other than an occasional creek or sides of rivers and lakes. I had one of the 3D printed protectors that I made out of polycarbonate on my 11" coil, but I don't feel like I really need it for the kind of detecting I do, so I took it off. I'm worried the least about my 10x5 because of the stouter designed coil ears or tabs which is similar to the GPX-6000 coils I noticed. Cudos to Coiltek on their design. Maybe Minelab should use that design on all of their coils.
  7. Too bad Coiltek didn't make this 18x4 for the Equinox instead of the 15" round. It would have been another home run like their 10x5". Hey Coiltek, how 'bout a 15x5" for the Equinox? Could be another superstar for ya.
  8. Take that tennis bracelet to a jeweler or pawn shop. They'll test the metal and stones and if they're real, they'll probably make you an offer. The jeweler will probably offer more than the pawn shop. I've found two silver pieces that had real diamonds mounted in them. It doesn't happen often, but it does happen. Fingers crossed! ๐Ÿคž
  9. I use APTX-LL Bluetooth earbuds in the Spring, Summer, and early Autumn months when tempetaures are above 50ยฐ F and higher, and use my ML-80s wireless during the late Autumn, Winter, and early Spring when the temps are below 50ยฐ F and lower.
  10. Nice haul, Dang! Your pouch must have weighed a ton! : BTW, the "key" looking thing is actually a locking key for a cymbal stand or tom arm mount. The "DW" stands for Drum Workshop.
  11. A scoop like this perhaps? Scoop and Break-Down Handle Here's one with a larger scoop... Bigger Scoop version
  12. Mine is more of a honey-don't list... Don't you dare buy another detector! Don't you dare go detecting when the lawn needs mowed! Don't you dare build a test garden in my Azaleas! Don't you dare get on that metal detecting forum when we have company coming. Don't you dare go detecting on that nude beach! ๐Ÿ˜Ž ...
  13. I'd recommend trying 67GTA's settings he mentioned. We have highly mineralized ground where I am and I run all metal most of the time with the iron tone set low, but still audible. That way a good tone really pops and isn't drowned out by the iron tone and makes it a little easier to tell if there's an iron target close to a good target. With your iron volume set on maximum, its going to make it harder to hear the good tones from bad and give you ear fatigue making things even worse. There is so much microscopic iron in my soil that I do have to notch out -9 sometimes to tame it and I also run the sensitivity turned down a bit and have the iron bias on high when not in all metal mode. These settings work pretty well for me in my soil. Hope this helps a bit.
  14. I printed my own from this free Thingiverse file. Coil Ear Protector for Minelab Equinox I printed it with Polycarbonate filament using 100% infill (no internal gaps). I also changed printing orientation to print it from the side instead of the bottom. This aligns the filament layers perpendicular to the common break lines of the tabs instead of parallel to the break points. It is much stronger this way. I've had it on for a year with no problems.
  15. Which coil are you using and how high is your sensitivity set at? Also, is your ground considered to have high, medium, or low mineralization?
  16. Here's the Fisher take on this problem. AQ Impulse Coil Yoke Perhaps some AQ Impulse owners could chime in on this about their experiences with it.
  17. These are US Army brass buttons and insignia from a WWII era Infantry dress uniform coat. After WWII the US and Crossed Rifles were separate pieces from the backing disc instead of one-piece stamped insignia.
  18. Having both left and right facing swastikas, these bowls are most prabably Asian, Hindu, Buddhist, or even Native American. They resemble rice bowls I've seen from Southeast Asia. They could also be funerary containers for cremated remains. There maybe some markings on the bottoms of the bowls that could give some clues. The German Nazi party only used right-facing swastikas and anti-Nazi Germans sometimes wore left-facing swastikas in protest during the early days of the Reich, but as you can imagine, those disappeared fast. I actually have one of those in my WWII collection.
  19. Well now I'm really glad I held on to the WM-08 wireless audio modiule that came with my Nox 800. I never thought I'd need it, but perhaps I will at some point.
  20. Awesome and eye opening stuff! I'd like to see the Nox 6" and 15x12" if possible. Thanks for doing all that!
  21. Mine glows when I put it on... is it supposed to do that? ... and these guys kept following me around the park... ๐Ÿคจ
  22. Lol, I found one in a local park this week! I guess there's more than one "One Ring". ๐Ÿคฃ
