  1. I really appreciate it when I find something that is right on top,,,no digging makes my elbows happy ! And if it's a ring OK , in the pouch !
  2. welcome aboard DB Looks like you sure didn't forget where to hunt ! My shoulder killed me for a week after my first hunt last summer . It ain't easy getting old , but the toys are better !
  3. Welcome aboard GH. Go for the gold . But If you find something else ,,,, keep a can of gold spray paint in the truck.
  4. Welcome aboard Greg. Nice button find !
  5. Welcome aboard retired officer Ryan. I'm a retired musician/tech and I disagree with the lady next door. I feel that my volume level is reasonable........ Good luck in your "evidence gathering" pursuits.
  6. bump VL was a legend before I got here , wasn't he ? Looks like I'm late to this party ! (what I get for going down a rabbit hole) Now I have to find out...back to the rabbit hole. If any of this stinky stuff still remains ,,,,I think it would be great in a crab trap !
  7. Good idea , but over time.....you might need a truck ! Ya knowwww It's so hard to tell one beach's trash from the next one. Maybe just keep it all in one bag and label it just before bringing it in ! LOL
  8. Well , it got a little better.. I managed to stay away from that diamond ring again A quarter , 2 pennies a memorial and a zincoln and a whole lot more of the junk , one of the bottle caps was diet pepsi so I have a start on a collection.......LOL Sure never thought I'd get a chance to dig this month. !
  9. Warm rain on a Noreaster.... The wind chill was very bone chilling but... I poked 6 holes into the lawn in an hour, well with a few trips back inside to warm up ! The ground was totally thawed and the diggin was easy. Final tally , a pull tab , an 80s pepsi bottle screw on cap and a couple pieces of can slaw .... Yaaaaaa Hooooooo ! skuh kuh kuh kuh kuh kuh kuh Got another hour or so till sunset ,hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm do I hear Nox music ??????? jim in ma Got your message , but can't seem to reply there today . 10/4 , best kind of hunt is when you know something is there ! I almost hit the beach today but the wind was brutal and decided to wimp out and stay near the heater LOL
  10. Close one Joe ! Follow the doc's orders.....check in when you're ready, We'll leave the light on.
  11. Sorry Chase . I was just delving into "maybe they did this " land. And throwing it into the discussion. It doesn't matter ,,unless I was right and then ML will have a better description in their lit.
  12. Chase What I was trying to get across was that there may already be a set of double D coils as well as the PI in the same coil housing . Possibly selected via software ? (maybe through an update later?) Call it musings of a lifelong guitar pickup twiddler....(I see a lot of similarities..) The designers are integrating software to decipher the various patterns of the pickup coils . Something I never did with quirky winding/wiring on guitars but coils are coils. Is there a reason to believe they aren't working on different ways to deploy them too ? Just been thinking about the questions raised about why the different connector and incompatibility with older model coils...(why''d they do it that way ?) That could be a reason . Call it musings of a lifelong guitar pickup twiddler....(I see a lot of similarities..) (I don't know if maybe a ML engineer is laughing at me right now ,,,but maybe he's going "hmmmmmmm")
  13. The XX token was obviously dropped by the most interesting man in the world.... He probably dropped that sweet ring too. Three thumbs up !
  14. I watched your video this morning . Good camera angles from up top ! I liked the way you slowly uncovered the surface. Good hunting... I suscribed
  15. I think we're gonna have to watch out for this kid ! He's got Grandpa moving his swinging arm ! .......? And another church permission ! hmmmmmmmm skuh kuh kuh kuh Are you bringing the Nox with you to the gulf ?
  16. Instant recall. I had a Barlow for many years.. She was a good knife but can't remember what happened to 'er . Maybe I'll find 'er with the Nox ???
  17. Has anyone ever seen a coil that has two sets of TX windings in it? I'd think there would be a bit of cross over induction , possibly cutting into max radiated power a little but if only one was active ...............................They have TX and RX in there now , right ?
  18. I just saw this in my similar content feed.. (consuming all the info here on this site is gonna take quite some time ,,,but I WILL catch up eventually) So many battery types these days , it's a wonder anybody knows how to charge them all ! Hopefully some day the development cycle arrives at a "best of" battery ,kinda like alkalines did many years ago. I agree it sounds like the charger isn't outputting power. Is it separate from the detector ? A talk with customer support seems appropriate ...
  19. That river in Maine is probably the Swift , there are a couple others... OH and a stream called GOLD ! She's true I tell ya Chummy , OH AYUH
  20. RR Sorry I forgot you mentioned something about a generator. To clear that up.. The Renogy isn't a generator , just a PSW inverter. I do have a Honda EU2000i genny (with a PSW built in) though.... OK , back to our story.....
  21. RR Not trying to derail the thread just it was mentioned in a few posts and was throwing it in to make that recc. I'm not putting down MSW inverters. (My black lagoon one was a PSW type...LOL) Your prize is a great idea and very a generous one too. (And I may steal your idea in the future !) I have fried a laptop supply brick on one though ...and have seen reports from others experiencing the same. The switching type chargers typical today sometimes don't play well with a MSW inverter. So I shy away from MSW for sensitive electronic devices. Thinking about it more the Nox power supply is a built in USB so only risking the outboard device , which are relatively cheap. It does work for some of them but may be a cumulative effect type thing too. I don't know what other detectors use to charge though so throwing this in for a heads up JIC. Things that use AA or 9v batteries are exempt (except for the charger if you use rechargables) . I've had a 400w MSW in the rig for years (and fried that brick on it.) So now use it for "less important" devices.. Thus the reason for my recc here. Hopefully it wasn't too out of line...I'm sure Steve has enough to do without moving things around.... I almost didn't post this but felt a bit of a warning was required .
