  1. Welcome aboard Mr.Cee ! I've also seen your videos. Looking forward to your posts here. If you have any questions or industry secrets ,,,feel free to post 'em up
  2. Welcome aboard ! This is one of the best places you could find to ask those ???. As you have seen already , plenty of experienced as well as new to the game voices in here and sure there'll be many more too. Whatever style your interests and abilities may lead you to ,,somebody here is probably into that a lot and guess it's a picture is worth a thousand words kinda thing... One thing you also might consider is looking for a local detecting club and go to a few meetings asking the same questions.. It's very possible you will get a chance to try out a machine or two and maybe even snag a detecting buddy with experience to get you started. You can also do site research and possibly get some permissions in line so you're ready to hit the ground run...er walking ,,,ya know , when you can SEE the ground again ! LOL. Good luck on your first hunt,,,,you'll have beginner's luck going for you already !
  3. Welcome aboard . If you've found any gold , would you mind sending me a map with an X marking the spot ? Arrrrrrrrrrrr , just kiddin'! Just postin' a pic or tellin' the tale will do ..... May all yer beeps be yellow...
  4. I sit corrected ! It never amazes me how many different devices fishermen develop for localized conditions. Whatever they are , big lead is a good signpost for big yellow rings . I vote go back there for another look swing.
  5. Nice story. You CAN go detecting in the snow ! As long as you don't want to dig up the solid part... Here's another snow story. I found a ring about 10 years ago using my ancient Rat Shack / Bounty Hunter 6kHz detector. A friend asked me if I could help her go find her diamond. She had lost it in the snow and "thought" it might have been when she took off a glove to unlock the door ...... I found a few targets , but no visuals , just a bunch of ice and chunks of hard packed snow...and way too cold to go fishin'. We picked up as much of the "beepy chunks" as we could fit into a plastic tote and took it home , her husband dug in the ice for a while without luck , fired up his salamander (torpedo) heater and pointed it at the tub....... an hour later there it was shining up from the bottom of that tub of water ! I think we just got lucky but she sure was happy. Hubby got all the hugs..........LOL Even the old tech still goes beep if you put it over the treasaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaar ! OK , and if it's not too deep.
  6. A ring always makes the rest of the haul look better...yup yup. I believe the fishing weights are crab traps. (the wires attached end in long loops that the crabs get their legs snarled in)
  7. Wow Gerry ! WTG ! Again with a mouthful ! (I'm guessing that is your signature pose now....) I'm thinkin' you couldn't get that pounder in there ?....You're gonna need a bigger mouth ! Thx for the pics and encouragement to us that are slumming with an 800 ! OH , AYUH !
  8. You forgot the Vikings. They sold the Templars the map..........skuh kuh kuh kuh
  9. Noooooooooooooooo , but it's only a matter of time , right ?......right ?? I'd be happy just finding one at a time too ! Would you be interested in stories of the days I didn't find gold ? I've got a lot of those ! Arrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
  10. I don't watch TV anymore but catch bits on U boob. I could be that guy , the rusty nails might be a stretch though......skuh kuh kuh kuh kuh (we all know why we really watch any of Oak Island ,,,,to see which machine Gary is swingin !)
  11. An interesting technique . Thx for bringing it up. It's always good to understand the why of things.
  12. Welcome aboard to both of ya ! Ask about anything you have interest in and don't be shy about popping in with anything you want to comment on.
  13. A transporter button right next to and integrated into the pinpointer that brings the buried item to the surface without digging. The vastly higher tech would also enhance the rest of the detector functions ....... Like anti-gravity coils to auto balance whatever detector it's mounted to. With a detachable Hover Coil option that turns any machine into a joystick operated metal finder you can use from camp , It would also work underwater. An injectable nano headphone device would instantly dinosaur all previous HP tech.
  14. Well , the "or something" part was right ! And you have detecting down to a science.... You didn't lie. Headphones with lots of knobs and switches .........yes !!!!
  15. Woahhhh that's a biggun ! You're lucky that monster wasn't hungry .....
  16. Awesome hunt ! Well done guys ! well done. I gotta figure out a way to get to THAT stuff !!!!
  17. Welcome aboard Stretchy. The EQX 800 is a good first choice. Ask any questions you have and we'll get ya going.
  18. That CKG was my second choice when I was looking , I got a T Rex because of the available smaller size and my elbows ! Plus the CKG was sold out ! Oh my goshk ! I still might get one for a back-up.
