  4. too true, Geof! for hunting new ground...but, Lunk has specialized in wringing gold from worked-ground. I bet he works unknown ground a little different-but, he can speak for his self. On my second trip to Oz in WA I followed behind a lot of chaining tracks...I think that person just liked dragging a chain because there was plenty of nuggets in his wake.... fred
  5. Thanks, Jim... Paul, the need trumps hate every time...look at Cro-Magnon and Neanderthal...we still carry their DNA. fred

  10. Good job, Steve...you kept digging until there was gold! fred
  11. Nice finds, Mitchel. If the cross has Sterling stamped on it there is no particular reason to also stamp 925... If you can find a Makers mark that would help... are you going to the Dale? fred
  12. Yes it is, Lunk...and just about as dangerous with my balance.... thanks everyone! fred
  13. Hi folks, I got out with the GPZ for some gold hunting. It has been almost a year since I used it...glad to say it still works. Dick W and Mike G were kind to invite me to their claim...I found four little bits For point 89 of a Gram...about 1/2 a pennyweight
  14. Hi, Doc I finally got to go wobble around the desert for three days. It was lovely weather and sure was nice to get back to nugget Hunting. I put your new Bungy on the GPZ. I love the LOOP which I attached at the hook. I put the loose end through the CLIP at the top. At first I thought the Bungy was a bit too light-weight; I was wrong! Once I go everything going the bungy was super! This is by far your best-est design yet. Using the new attachment was much easier than the other design. Your Bungy and Chris's Hipstick are the perfect combination. I was alone so photos of my beautiful form in action will have to wait...here is your bungy and four nuggies.
  15. Hey DD That was a very lonely spot... Tony the National Mascot is bad always in WA and the mossies take over for the night shift in the N.T. I LOVE OZ! fred
  16. There is so much man-made junk on any coast...doubtful it is a meteorite... there are places that will test- do a search for meteorite testing labs... fred
  17. Oh, Paul; They're gonna put you the movies they're gonna make a big star out of you... my apologies to Buck Owens fred
  18. THE Tour Operators will usually rent you a detector, such as a GPZ... PLease, do not buy just any detector. Oz has the worst ground... fred
  19. Just a little preparation and for-thought would prevent most of these tragedies... On my first trip to Australia I got lost- for a few moments. I never left the truck again without first logging its location on my brand new GPS. I was foolish and lucky! fred
  20. I figured the Melbourne Cup was a beer drinking contest.... fred
  21. You got over a patch no one else had found...very nice! fred
  22. Very patient testing, Steve...I can never seem to wait, so I just start digging... Have you tried the Steelphase through/with the wireless module? I would not give up being wireless for hardly anything... nice little nuggie fred
