I cannot determine how to get to my list of Minelab warranty registrations....I find the spot to register new equipment. Does some kind soul know the secret and will reveal it...? if I too only had a brain fred

Nice deal for some one in Oz, Northeast! I almost sold my 7000 when I got sickly two Novembers ago...I am glad I did not sell. Having the GPZ gave enough incentive to keep going and now I am about 80% back. That is way better than a walker and wheel chair. I just ordered a new coil cover after all this time it is coming apart...but, I am not a coil scrapper... fred

Fisher Gold Bug Pro / Teknetics G2 For Meteorites ?
fredmason replied to EL NINO77's topic in Metal Detecting For Meteorites
Any dedicated gold machine is a good meteorite hunter. Of course you will also find any other bits of metal that you may swing over. For chrondrites do not use any level of discrimination. I would not use any D ever for meteorites. The area you are in will likely have all types of rubbish from a few thousand years of occupation and war. Good Luck fred -
More than kind-TRUE! I miss your acerbic but funny comments! fred

For those that get the ICMJ, Norm aka Klunker wrote a fine article in the most recent issue. Very funny, of course! For about 10 cents (American) a day you could be getting these articles thanks for the laughs, Klunker fred

Nickel Signals... Ratio To Buffs, V's And Gold
fredmason replied to Happa54's topic in Metal Detecting For Coins & Relics
no pulltabs? Excellent finds, especially the gold! fred -
yeah, Paul, some of those guys not only went bush but way south too... fred

Mitchel; there are no guarantees no matter where you go. Two weeks is not nearly enough time for WA...if you are lucky you could find some nice gold. If you are not then...that's the way it goes. Ozgoldau is correct about the junk and the scenic tours and the potential. If you only have a few weeks the Golden Triangle is the place to be. Things are different away from the main cities so do your research...otherwise you may not be able to buy essentials... maybe he would guide you around-local help is the way to go! fred

Detecting In The Snow
fredmason replied to foreverteachable's topic in Metal Detecting For Coins & Relics
wtg! That is cold, reminds me of my Portola, Calif days...we would get so bored in the winter that we would go detecting under the trees where the snow was less... fred -

Another Reason To Like The Equinox Target ID

So, what the heck is it??? fred -
Thanks, Lunk...I thought you were taller than 5-4...we met at an Outing at Rich Hill many years ago...when Chris and JP were filming, you had a rock that we all thought was a meteorite.... I have seen guys using the GPZ without aids...they are way tougher than me! Wishing you continued "good luck" in your hunts fred

Lunk, you are one hell of a he-man to swing that 19 inch coil while hunting in Franconia. The ground coverage is excellent but the strain is much greater. I am curious how you mount the 19 and gpz...harness, hip-stick, swing-arm??? Very nice irons, much larger than most, I think! The stones are cool too... fred

Glad you got some great detecting time in, Rob...clears the mind! say hey to Barb! fred -
Freaky; If Mitchel does not want them or when he is finished I can ship them to you...The information may be dated by now. Also, some dealers like Arizona Outback had a few copies. They may want to sell cheap! The maps are newer but still may be a bit dated... I agree with JW, if you expect to get rich or even to break even...stay here. Unless you hit a patch or a real big thumper you won't make any money. I love Australia and the wide open spaces and the critters...except the bush roaches, yuck!!! fred

Mitchel; Gold Prospecting in Australia is operated by Mark Hyde, He has a good website. You an mail him and ask questions. Based in Bendigo he does Day Tours... There are loads of places in easy driving distance of Melbourne if you have limited time and money. Plus you have friendly offers from the locals... I have some Doug Stone Maps and a couple of his books if you want to borrow them... If I go again it will be WA because I love the terrain and the wide open spaces...and the GOLD! fred

Words are just words, but, the snobbery of deciding which words are acceptable is alive and well in America... I love Australia fred
