Tones are preset. Your coin will be a high tone. You can only adjust disc. and turn on and off iron tone.

Noah,

the sites that I hunt have very few if any modern coins so it isn't much of an issue for me.  I suspect that the Deus would be a better choice for you.

medium tone to high tone break is 75.  Zinc penny starts at 80
