spencer@wy
I was curious to know if you long-time detectorists noticed any performance differences dependent on weather conditions. I have noticed that my detecting just seems a bit smoother on those days when it is over-cast. Is this just my imagination?
fredmason
I feel that detecting in parks is better just after thunderstorms with the ground a bit moist...but not soaked. fred
klunker
Some days are certainly better than others for EMI. I don't know of any way to determine before hand when it will be a good day. When I was a kid I had a calender that had little fish symbols on it. The darker the fish symbols were the better The fishing was supposed to be. When the little fish was all black on a Saturday The trout at my favorite fishing hole were doomed. I need one of those calendars for detecting.
beatup
I'm sure the weather has some effect on a detector but i seem to only notice it on the days when the EMI is bad.
Sourdough Scott
I know that each time I go out with the 7000, it is slightly a different setup. Weather it be atmospheric, ground type or wetness of the ground. But I find that to be the beauty of the 7000. It's ability to adjust to the conditions easily. Reno Chris
I find days where I find good amounts of gold are better........

Jim Hemmingway
Spencer@wy... while I have never experienced it over here in our temperate weather conditions, I've read that heated surfaces affect ground mineral reactivity and / or somehow otherwise affect metal detection stability. I think you've hit the nail on the head when you relate it directly to weather conditions. Jim.
