  1. I actually enjoy this type of hunting! It's not nearly as common here, and requires a little more focus! And no one comes out on the rock's to follow you around and break your concentration! The potential ankle breaking/a$$ busting threat helps keep your focused on the coil area!? And the chance of finding interesting items; I think, is much greater than our constantly renurished beaches!??
  2. That's business! But the pink G2+ is a perfect example of countering! I got one the same time you did! Great price! The whole educated consumer thing; and of course, patience! Did my 2nd Nox 800 the same way! Bought a nonworking one for a huge discount, still under warranty, and sent in to repair center for a brand new replacement! Saved $$$! "Nothing ventured, nothing gained"! ??
  3. Welcome to the forum Teddy! Much you can learn here! And we always love to hear about Aussie Gold finds! Several of your countrymen here to help you on the specifics of your "backyard"! Good luck!???
  4. ?That, my friend, is some serious non-detecting talent! Is there anything you don't do well? ????
  5. I'm just happy to have two of the three in that pic! I guess I'm good for detectors... for the moment!!???
  6. GB, I don't think that "Kac" guy found that coin with a pan; I believe that is only for them prospector people!! And how do their pans die?? I think he was using one of those detector thingies!?? I wish that spikes origin was from a Treasure Ship! But it's quite a bit too far South from the 1715 Fleet's final resting places!? But there were many other smaller wooden ships around this area, like most inlet areas, back in the day! But I'm fine with that!? Actually, now that I think about it.... "Could it be?.., a spike from a Templar Ship?.., looking for a place,.., to bury the Holy Grail?..??" ???
  7. I'm waiting for you to rename it "Mason Jar full of Silver Coins Hill"!! Hurry up already! I'm waiting!!? Cool finds!! ??
  8. Kac, That's because it's a cat, not a balloon! ? Make sure to wear your glasses, next time you try to clean something with that thing!!??
  9. With the humidity, so are we! But it was cloudy, due to storms that day! I was soaked, but I didn't roast! I just keep the lightning detector app on for warnings! Got it set for a 20 mile perimeter! I can also hear it (lightning) on the detector, but that's not ideal! By then, it's too close to risk!⚡???
  10. Without getting political, let's just say the repair shop and the mechanics are not the problem!??
  11. If I had not been hunting some sand areas, I didn't even need my scoop! But I definitely needed that screwdriver! And maybe a pry bar for some larger rocks that were wedged over targets! I normally carry tons of tools and stuff in my truck, but had just cleaned it out, to go to the repair shop tomorrow! ??
  12. Wooden ship spike, and copper sheathing! So based on area probably 1700's-1900's! ??
  13. As many of you know, we have been having some good tide swings for the Summer Solstice full moon! Also called a "strawberry moon" here! I went out to one of the renurishment beaches to look for some good sand loss! This particular beach has a limestone shore that "they" feel the need to cover with unnatural "beach" sand, for the "skin roasting" tourist traffic! The ironic thing is, most tourists come to explore the craggy limestone beach!? Luckily for everybody, the sand mostly disappears fast on the lower beach! That, coupled with the extra low tides, makes for fun for most everyone! It's always a tough choice to pick one or two spots to hunt in such a limited timespan! I was hoping to get some old silver, or jewelry from this area with my limited time! But forgot my all important screwdriver, for prying out the older targets from the limestone cracks! I improvised with what I had, but it increased my recovery time, as i was having to pry most of my targets free with a piece of aluminum junk I found! I did not find any silver or jewelry this time, but I did find a nice bronze spike, stuck under a ledge, that had to be worked out of it's sand and shell wedged cubby hole! And some more modern coins that were practically grown into the cracks! Sorta reminds me of how some of you all recover nuggets in a river or stream area! Gotta have the right tools, or it's near impossible! Anyway, if fishing lead were gold nuggets, I'd be doing a seriously silly happy dance! But as is reality, I'll just add the 15-20 ounces to my lead bucket for other uses! Some had been lodged in the rocks a long time! My best find was that spike! As I've never found one in that area! Also a few small pieces of copper sheathing! So the source may someday give up something more precious!?? ***Note to self,? and others: Never use your scoop as a prying tool, or a hammer!? I broke the handle, although not fully; so I was very careful for the rest of the hunt! If I didn't already have a replacement at home, I would get one of Steve G's carbon fiber ones! Well; next one!!?
  14. D**n ticks?! They need to hurry up with the vaccine! Than one less thing to worry about!! . With my luck, by the time I add another coil for the Nox, a new model (Nox2.0) will be released!? ??
  15. I had high hope's for a production model! But at this point, I've pretty much moved on to assessing other units; including tried and true models that do the job just fine! Just have to continue letting Mother Nature make up for any depth loss! And save the $$$ for other priorities!??
  16. Well, if this is true, than Welcome to the Forum MD!! We will try and watch our P's and Q's, (we do anyway) since you would probably be the youngest member ever!? Steve or Chase may ask for some ID at some point, or parents permission!? ? This may be new territory!!?? Now go find some treasure!!???
  17. ?? ? ?? Note: I'm out of likes dog, so there you go!!?
  18. Awsome kac?, Nice to be able to clearly see the date! Keep the party going! And maybe catch up with dog!!????
  19. Look's very familiar!? This was today at extra low tide! But that's for another story!??
  20. Hello Ammar, And welcome to the forum! Too bad it's not under better circumstances! Short answer, ML replaced that pod under warranty! They did not tell me what Er41 was, but the pod they sent me was brand new! This is the reality you find yourself unfortunately! But the good news is ML has great service! The only cost to me, was me shipping it to them! They may work with you on that!? Give them a call, or email them, they will give you a number and place to ship!? And if you haven't already, give us some info on the Meet & Greet section about yourself! Hope it works out for you, without a hitch! Good luck!???
  21. Have a great trip Steve, And don't be feeding any wolves, or bears! We want you back in one piece! Ideally, loaded down with some nuggets!??
  22. Cudamark, You are correct on all counts about some idiosyncrasies with it! But it's still my most used "tank" for pinpointing, out of three good ones I have! Personal preference for how I dig targets I guess! I'll add another; the compression cap (stopper) tends to want to slip out, when putting pressure on the probe! I'm pretty rough with it on inland digging, locating a target with just a small digger slit in the turf! It gets pryed about in the ground! But I've fixed that small issue! And also made a connector for a bungee that slips beneath it! All my pinpointers when new, get a cap, and a dip in plast-dip! So none have had any wear thru problems! I just recap, and redip as needed! I don't use the sound with detectors or pinpointers; it draws too much unwanted attention! Headphones/vibrate only! It could use a redesign! But I still look at it as a sleeper! I may get a second one soon, in case they stop building them! My other two are a PulseDive with all the trimmings, for some reef hole hunting! And my origional carrot, with an "epoxed closed" speaker and light hole, so its waterproof!??
