Cool finds Mitchel! -
Very nice Peg! Looks like my territory in the Motherload and really makes me want to get out with the side-by-side and dog as well! Congrats on the nice nugget shooting.

That's a nice wash plant setup! The oversized tailings look very clean. What are the different stages of the plant? -
Monster Getting Banged By At Least One Aussie, Already
matt replied to Condor's topic in Minelab Metal Detectors
The talk by most "in the know" has been that it's going to be great for beginners. Most of the people on these forums are far from beginners. I am purchasing this detector for my 9 year old son. I bought him a 2300, but it is just too heavy for him. This new VLF should be a lot easier for him to use. When he gets stronger, he can use the 2300 more often. This is a very reasonable price for what you get. -
There was a used 7000 advertised for sale on all the forums a couple weeks ago for asking price of $5500.

They don't look like "bits" to me. Chunks would be a better way to describe them! Very nice!

Did you check to make sure that the long shell wasn't crimped at the opening? I always open/empty every shell casing found detecting after learning how the old timers sometimes used spent cartridges to store gold.

Well done!!!

Happy birthday!!!

I wonder if it was slabbed up into a cab if the color would show. If it does that would make a heck of a polished piece.

On a deep target in light rain and when the rain began to get a bit heavier, I left the target and decided to return the next visit. I never leave a hole unfilled for a number of reasons, but was on private property and figured to be back the next day. This certain target did not have me too excited because the general area had been hunted really hard by many people in the past, including me. For whatever reason I didn't get back to it. A year or so later, I was back at this area and remembered this hole and to my surprise it was exactly as I left it. It was a wake up call when the target was a nice specie just under an ounce, something like 18 dwt with mostly gold and very little quartz.
