Can’t say I blame them - us detectorists are like a nest of baby birds with endless appetites.

Hate to say it, but another analogy would be; A bunch of old hens that peck their "food" to pieces! We can be a tough bunch either way!😆👍👍

Steve H, incognito is good. Much better than non-partecipare. There are some good ideas here and in other topics on the Garrett thread in the DP forum that might give them some food for thought….🐣

Shot show? Maybe they are there for the security line of detectors.

The SHOT show is an industry trade show, where retailers go to see manufacturers to look for new opportunities. My old company in Alaska has attended. Basically anyone that sells to the outdoors market is there. Garrett, Minelab, and Nokta will be there, and yes, it is often a showcase to announce new products to retailers.

I think the real one is actually located in Las Vegas at the Golden Nugget Casino (downtown) although I'm not sure they display it on a regular basis.  Last time I was at the Nugget (Nov. 2021) it was not out.  27.2 kg (60 lb Av.) is what the real one weighs.  I wonder how realistic the weight is for this replica.  (My guess is: not very.)

If someone goes to the show, be sure to ask about a new detector for 2024, if they're not explicitly revealing that info.
