Mate I`ve not used one but when I had a 5000 I thought my 24x12 UFO was a terrific coil.  With the good things I hear about the Evolution coils I rekon in the right ground you are going to get excellent coverage and depth and you`ll still ping the point oner`s on the toe and heel .    To use the 24x12 you need open ground, but I think it would be a killer coil.    Dave

Thanks Dave and Steve, yes I know I need the open country, I should be able to find some around the Golden Triangle. The Evo 12 was good to me and I thought given the extra coverage, the 24x12 Evo would give me an advantage over the 12.

Once again, thank you for your replies.

Has anybody else tried this NEW 24x12 EVO coil?

It seems like there are not a lot of people using it. (not much information out there)

Yes Don, this season coming up in the GT Australia, will maybe give me a good idea on the 24x12 because I will be using it as much as possible, I guess then that you haven’t anything further on this coil?

Regards.

I was told by an experienced detectorist that it has similar depth as the 15" Round EVO coil but a lot more ground coverage. I might try one later this year.

This is welcome news to me and GPZ 7000 owners. Can't wait to find out more information on this. Hopefully 40% lighter and less expensive. 😝

So after my last post in my search for a decision on what detecter to get, between another gpx or gpz knowing NF are working on coils for the gpz and the lack of small coil options is what has kept me from a gpz I thought I'd email NF and ask if a small coil was in the pipeline and got a interesting email back. As you can see I found it interesting that they can only go so small with DOD configuration but lookomg and testing a new alternative allowing them to make small coils... Fingers crossed

Purchased a GPX- 4500 package and an additional 12" round NF Evolution coil from Chris at AZO and took it for it's maiden run today. It was toasty in Central AZ today but I just had to give the new set up a go for a few hours. Not a bad first run... scored three little nugs.

      Totally HOT set up.
