  1. Thanks Paul! I hear the TDI SL is weaker then the TDI pro. I have the Pro and it has proven itself to me on the beach. It's Deep. Bottle caps galore with that sucker...I can hunt wide open with my CTX then go back over it with the TDI pro and there are targets everywhere.....Run it with ground balance off for depth. Detector comparisons on youtube hunt with this machine from time to time. If the Equinox can offer some disc and be even remotely close with depth (Im dreaming here) then... strick
  2. Good stuff! Love that wreath looking thingy 5 pics up...kinda looks like gold strick
  3. I have no problem with bottle caps at the beach either...anyone who complains about digging bottle caps in the sand is a......well I wont go there ....but the parks in my neck of the woods are littered with zillions of them. People will take out the bottle but push the cap in the grass...in some places the detector nulls quiet for many yards before it recovers...and they dont get washed away like at the ocean...they just keep degrading until getting closer and closer to a low tone. I see that the nox goes very deep at the beach and I was wanting to try and do a comparison to the TDI pro...if it can even come close to the TDI then it's a no brainer strick
  4. Just speculating but he might have had one laying around? I have one that I will try and make work.. anything in particular that was difficult about the job? someone was saying that you have to drill a little hole in the carbon fiber shaft for the nipple in the handle to drop into. strick
  5. Thanks! the big necklace I found a couple months ago. The other stuff in the last two weeks. I've found jewelry hunting in parks to be a great way to relieve the stresses of every day life....Dig and Dig it relaxes the mind and allows you think...Its always a nice surprise when something nice pops out of the ground. strick
  6. Might as well hunt while I'm waiting for the Equinox. Some 10K and some 925. Why is it most of the good 925 chains I find say made in Italy? The wife is claiming the nice women's silver braided necklace and the gold bracelet lol. Almost threw away the little pendent thought it was junk weight less then a gram.... strick
  7. Nice big mens rings almost fit. You have a good location. strick
  8. This treasure hunting affliction is making people crazy...lol...when the 7000 came out it I don't remember it even being close to this crazy....Waiting on my Equinox 800 so I can go and dig a ton of bottle caps strick
  9. What dreams are made of...Hard work usually pays off eventually....and I'm not just talking about all the digging strick
  10. Thanks fellas.... since the front is missing I cant identify the maker but the inner workings has stamped Special RR # 40 serial # 202443 maybe someone else is better at research then me... strick
  11. Everything in those photos looks to have been in the water a long time! Thanks for the link Steve strick
  12. Any one of those things would make me happy...what is the big coin top left? strick
  13. Man I wish I got into this game sooner...I cant even imagine all the cool stuff I'd have to look at and pass down. Back in the 70's I was a snot nose kid...the 80's I was busy chasing fur, feather and scales. I remember my father had a detector in the 80's and one day I saw him near an old home site while I was driving by...stopped to see what he had found. I wish I had the inclination to get a detector and hunt with him. My son has no interest in it either lol....what comes around goes around strick
  14. "Big silver ring on edge" I was worried about this also so I brought this up on "Detector Comparisons" you tube channel. He said it will hit it but off to the side of the coil. If you just wave it in the center of the coil then it can appear that it does not see it. This is for engineers to explain...as long as the detector hears it when its somewhere under the coil then I'm good with it. strick
  15. "The lower shaft fills up with water" I've always said that going to college for 10 years made me loose a lot of my common sense...but I still find it hard to believe that the engineers at Minelab built a waterproof detector and forgot to make the lower shaft drain properly LMAO guess I'll be drilling a hole too! strick
  16. Bottle caps have been talked about...I've been looking at the finds guys are posting and there are few if any in the bag so either they are keen to avoiding them or are not showing them. The rusty ones are probably easy to avoid...but I have zillions in the parks where I live and my CTX clearly tells me when it is one.... EVERY TIME Hopefully I can do the same with the horse. strick
  17. I have noticed this...most of the gold rings I have found are below the nickel range...I'm still waiting for that 12.13-12.15 Gold ring so I keep digging nickels....Wonderful post...and I hate the guy with the lawn mower. strick
  18. Thats saying a lot. I was worried about the depth of this new detector.... but after a couple videos what I was seeing was as deep or deeper then my CTX. With fairly accurate ID! Now wishing I ordered sooner. One CTX and AT Gold on the chopping block. Keeping the Deus cuz I dont want to piss off Merton.
  19. It appears you are in a "Target Rich Environment" Lived in Virginia when I was a kid Thanks for posting! strick
  20. Your reports are very helpful, encouraging and well appreciated. Cant wait to get my hands on this fast deep little banger. strick
  21. It's a treasure hunters report not a test pilot report. Thanks for the report Skate...cant wait to get my hands on one of these...the small coil I have a feeling is going to be a real game changer for some of us. strick
