F5 Vs F75 Or T2 All Metal
RickUK replied to JCR's topic in First Texas - Bounty Hunter, Fisher & Teknetics
Thanks folks regarding my question about Boost mode,on my older model you cannot toggle between Discrimination mode and AM once you have set the machine up,but my new T2+ you can so well please with that, have never got on with the stock coil so i have a brand new SEF 8x6 coil arriving tomorrow which will suit my trashy roman/saxon sites....once again thanks for all your help. Also just put on my very rare experimental 6'' coil from Coiltek of which as far as i can tell only 12 was made, its basically slightly bigger ground coverage of the factory 5'' but it boost mode certainly on my test patch does gives some welcome extra depth so great on really trashy sites as the coil in boost mode acts like a laser beam. -
Welcome to the forum, not sure what Tn stands for but guess it means Tennessee or have i got that totally wrong ?? regards from the UK. 🤣🤣🤣

F5 Vs F75 Or T2 All Metal
RickUK replied to JCR's topic in First Texas - Bounty Hunter, Fisher & Teknetics
Just a quick question,my new T2+ arrived this morning and also ordered another couple of smaller coils as i have never been a fan of the stock coil,my question is after switching the T2 on,i would usually go straight to AM mode which is self explanatory or in the earlier days Discrimination mode,i am aware on how to get into both of these settings but how do you go into Boost mode and than transfer over to AM mode, its either one or the other, but cannot see how to transfer over into AM mode after selecting Boost mode ??? any suggestions on this one please even if it is possible which i am almost certain it can be. Many thanks -
F5 Vs F75 Or T2 All Metal
RickUK replied to JCR's topic in First Texas - Bounty Hunter, Fisher & Teknetics
Morning folks, just ordered a brand new T2+ today and should be here by the weekend,i have had my original green T2 since 2007 as it was one of the 1st batches here in the UK,this machine has found me more gold hammered/milled coinage than all my other machine put together. My question is am i right in saying that you can run boost mode in AM ?? as i am reading it you set the machine up initially in Discrimination mode with BP and then flick it over into AM mode is that correct.Never really liked the stock coil so will be using my all time favourite NEL Sharpshooter coil on as i find it works exceptionally well on my trashy roman/Saxon site and my older T2 will have my bigger NEL Storm on it for deeper pasture sites. I am assuming that dealers are selling off older stock machines as i picked this one up brand new for under £300 including postage so grabbed a bargain. -
Go Small Or Go Home - 9" Gets The Silver
RickUK replied to F350Platinum's topic in Metal Detecting For Coins & Relics
Some really tremendous finds,i am finding hat in the last 2-3 years almost all my everyday and non specific use coils are going much smaller mainly due to very trashy roman and saxon sites that i detect on.....i have alot of large and very large coils these days just sitting around gathering dust.....once again very well done on the find of the day.- 29 replies

Quest Scuba Tector Pro ...... Performance On Gold?
RickUK replied to Redneck's topic in Metal Detector Advice & Comparisons
Sounds like a game plan to me,i always thought about using just a Deus coil in say a shopping bag and remote in my pocket with a single earplug so it looks like i am listening to my mobile phone.....not done it yet but always fancied trying it out 🤣🤣🤣 -
Terrific shots,a couple of inches of snow here in the UK brings the whole country to a stand still as we dont get a great amount of snow and just not geared up for it.

Welcome to the forum, alas i cannot help you with regards your mentioned detectors as i have never used any of them and also i dont do nugget shooting here in the UK,but i do coin and relic hunting though.....good luck with what ever option you choose.

Welcome,i live just across the channel near London, alas i live so far inland i dont do alot of beach detecting but when i do i must admit i do like it. When i do beach detecting down near the south coast then i use either my Nox or my TDI Pro.

Must admit night detecting is not for me here in the UK,although during the summer months i can stay out detecting till it gets pretty dark but then i call it time and head home.....as i prefer to use full cup headphones even during the hot weather as i dont want to miss those real deep desirable signals, detecting in the dark is not for me as many folks could take a liking to a expensive detecting outfit for another fix so always prefer to be on the safe side.

So sorry to hear the passing of Ken White, interesting read about his contribution to detecting and have always been a Whites detector owner.....R.I.P Ken.

Entering Into The "abyss"
RickUK replied to George Kinsey's topic in Metal Detecting For Coins & Relics
Must admit i totally agree with you, both of my Nexus machines can do basically the same because they run in the 5-6khz range as well and with the option of much bigger coils into the bargain.....my slightly older Nexus Standard SE with the dual 9'' coil gives amazing depth on bigger targets as does my MP and as you have mentioned the lower Khz is also great for silver hammered and copper coinage. It will be very interesting to see how this 'Abyss' works as a Artefact/Hoard Hunter. -
Here in the UK gold prospecting is not the normal type of metal detecting,so only maybe a few do it,i very rarely watch any specific gold hunting YT videos and certainly not Oak Island. I do like watching videos for hunting gold coinage and other gold artefacts, but nugget hunting i doubt that i will ever visit a location ie Aussie land and give it a try.

Welcome onboard, must admit from looking at your images i cannot see it worth folks doing all the hard work for a very very potential small return....of course i could be totally wrong and hope you find someone who will take the job on for you, pure gut feeling tells me i could well be right in my assumption. Good luck and hope you find the holy grail.
