  1. I brought a IDX Pro about 6 years back, only used it a few times,i plan on doing the Mr Bill modifications, but never really got around to doing the mods....the GB modification is the one that i will probably do.
  2. It sounds like it is a 'Sirius' piece of kit 🤣🤣🤣
  3. For me i have 2 main types of detecting scenario's,if i am on say my own permissions i will keep plodding away with a detector in some cases my local ones they are still producing finds even after many years this could be due to me changing different coil and detector combinations, but while still produces finds i will still detect them,i start out with a small coil combination and then clear what i call the 1st layer and gradually increase coil size and start getting down to the real deep desirable stuff. But these sites are done methodically and slowly because i dont have a clock as such ticking away and i take my time. The 2nd different approach is if i am on say someone else's permission,a club dig or even a rally, then i may only have one hit on that site of say 8-10 hours so then i use a medium size coil to try and cover the ground as quickly as possible within that days time frame, must admit its not my favourite scenario as i prefer to do the slow and methodically option.Of course this is only how i mainly detect here in the UK.
  4. So what exactly are you looking for that is that deep ?? also what is your experience of using metal detectors for deep detecting and even if you could find something that goes that deep or even deeper how do you plan on digging down that far ??
  5. Gut feeling tells me this is a massive Wind Up 🤣🤣🤣
  6. Very similar detecting characteristics as the TDI Pro for sure,Fisher seem to be totally lost as a detector manufacturer these days, was only just a few year back one of the top brands but these days becoming a 'has been company' very quickly.
  7. I would say that this hoard hunter wont ever appear either, the cost involved in producing them would be pretty high i would have thought,no major advantage over a normal twin box setup from say Fisher etc.
  8. Lover that barrel tap, have found a few of those over the years, its personal choice if you wish to clean them or not i guess, they look great when they are done but its keeping them clean that is the time consuming part of it.
  9. What other folks use is totally upto them detecting wise, for me i use my original green T2 in my opinion its still the king of my sites and my type of detecting,i certainly dont chase the latest greatest must have detectors,if a detector grabs my attention i wait a minimum of 12-18 months before i am sufficiently happy that they have ironed all the bugs out,my last newish detector i brought was the Equinox and i fell for the hype of it but if i am totally honest i hate using it,i do occasionally take it out every 3-4 months with the small coil on as i can see a need for it on certain sites. My T2 still continues to pull out the goodies and has found me more gold hammered and milled gold coins than all my other machines put together and also silver hammered coins as well.....if it ain't broke dont try and fix it by thinking that the latest machines will find more,i will dtill continue finding some wonderful historic find here in the UK my 2006/7 trusty old T2. Of course what works for me and my type of detecting may not work for anyone else. For me its all about getting out and enjoying detecting and if i find something that is a added bonus and i just dont have the time for detecting politics and trust me especially here in the UK detecting Politics is all around.
  10. That detector was on my mates Kevin's website Staffordshire Metal Detectors recently, was very tempted myself but all ready have as brand new TDI Pro so no need for another one.
  11. As you have both the Manticore and Deus11 up for sale or trade i would say it was neither of those machines,so possibly it was the T2 that was the deeper one out of the 3,of course this is just process of elimination lol.
  12. This may seem to be a total shot in the dark here but as i use a T2 as my main machine thats running in AM mode could be the dark horse here.I am still blow away by how deep mine is and that is just a standard model and not one with the boost mode.....my vote which in theory goes against all the odds is the T2.
  13. Arado 120b in the day they had been like a Equinox of today,i still own 2 very good conditions ones, albeit i dont tend to use them much these days as they are reasonably heavy but still very deep.
  14. I dont have a pacemaker but from the replies back it looks to be totally safe, but your doctor i would have though would have been the final and authoritative person to ask for advice to be on the complete safe side.
  15. Yes,the worse detector that i have ever owned and i fell for all the hype was the Troy X5 it was not cheap when i brought it brand new back in 2005/6 something like that but even after using it for 2 years and speaking with Troy across the pond it was a total piece of junk....sold it and regretted ever buying it for sure.
  16. I have only ever sold one detector in all the decades that i have been detecting and that was the Troy X5 and 2 coils,i brought it brand new and used it for 2 years and had 100s of hours under my belt with it but it was the worse detector that i have ever purchased....luckily some one was looking for one and i could not sell it quick enough and only lost £25 into the bargain.....every other detector and coil that i have brought i still own and use.
  17. I use one on my Whites TDI,its a Mono coil and as light as a feather....must admit i really do like using it originally designed for the GPX/GP and other allied models but works very well straight out of the box on a TDI Pro but if you do plan on using one on a TDI as the lugs are slightly wider you either need to pack out with washers or use a Minelab bottom rod....but this little 6'' Mono coil certainly gets my vote for sure.
  18. Thats all i ever use on my Nox is the 6'' coil, never comes off the machine....never really got on with the Nox since i have owned it 3+ years so rather than sell it and loose money i mainly use the 6'' coil and also occasionally the 15x12 coil for ground coverage.....the stock coils just sits in a cupboard gathering dust.
  19. That is the exact same setup that i use,and if you are into fishing it does not cost you anything.
  20. Here in the UK folks use to use old coins or tokens to make buttons that had fallen off clothing,as alot of country folk did not have access to buttons etc,so improvised on what ever they could and old coin/tokens could be adapted and used and i think this may be the case here as well.
  21. I run larger GPX coils on my TDI Pro without any issues, they seem to work reasonably well on mine anyway, infact apart from the smaller coils almost all mine are 15'' and bigger. I use the Goldstalker 14x9 Mono,ML 15x12 Mono,Detech 18'' Mono and the largest which i will say is not a GPX coil is the 20'' Sierra Grande from Jimmy Sierra.....but i use the smaller GPX Coils the 6'' Coiltek Mono which does work exceptionally well.
  22. Welcome to the forum, same here i am from the UK as well, have a massive array of detectors and coils and been detecting since 1970,have done a little beach detecting but due to living so far inland its a long trip just for a days detecting, but have done river detecting in some local shallow river that have had fords through them and also have done some magnet fishing as well. Once again a big welcome.
  23. That website brings back some happy memories,i still own 2 Arado 120b machines which still work and also a FieldMaster and a couple of other old classics,3 Lasers B1 and B2 and a souped up Trident Extreme....one that was very near to buying was the Saxon X-1,at the time one of the deepest machine around.
  24. I use the 4'' coil on 4 of my Tesoro/Laser 5pin machines, and its a decent little coil,i mainly use it in between OSR Oil Seed Rape crops as the stems are just like Bamboo and basically small coils in the 4''-6'' size range are the only ones that you can use, also another use for the 4'' coil and probably the most used is for Mudlarking on the Thames Foreshore or infact any mudlarking......i use mine on my Tesoro Silver Sabre,Tesoro Compadre,Laser B1 and Laser B3 my Compadre was modified so that it can accept the 5 pin coils rather than being hard wired like they usually are. Not a depth monster coil by any means but target separation is what its all about hence why is so popular a coil for Mudlarking on the Thames.
