I Found My First Palladium Ring

Took the Nox down to my local lake for an all day hunt on the exposed beach area. The lake level has been dropping all summer due to the lack of rain in central Texas. I spent most of the morning digging nothing but trash, mainly pulltabs and bottle caps.

First good hit was the palladium ring, VDI was 15. Next keeper was the little silver rope pendant, VDI was 24. Last find of the day was the 10K ring which hit at 12. This is my first palladium ring, I thought it was stainless when I first saw it, but when I picked it up, it had some weight so I figured it was white gold. I was pleasantly surprised to see it was mark "Benchmark Palladium"

Quite a day!  I would think the 10kt Au ring alone would have made it a successful hunt.

I wonder why someone would choose palladium over platinum.  Possibly price since at times in the past palladium was less costly (but the opposite and not even close today).  I'm thinking those must be quite rare.

Do you dig everything because you like to suffer or do you leave something behind?😄

I know it's the best way to find good things.
Two days ago I dug a fine silver chain, then I heard two VDI 6 signals, they were two very small earrings, they sounded like tinfoil, if it wasn't for the chain I wouldn't have dug them.

I dig anything from -2 up, it's a drag after a few hours, but, I'm greedy and want it all 🙂
