Little confused, just got the 6000, do I need both a LL Bluetooth transmit and receive unit to use say Bluetooth ear buds? Thanks all. msc

I don't have one, but on page 6 of the user manual it recommends Aptx-LL headphones of any kind. Aptx lists the 6000 as having the capability. Been reading this thread and have been confused about that myself. Don't use standard Bluetooth headphones without an Aptx-LL transmitter though. You have to get Aptx-LL headphones.

No, you can pair any atpX low latency Bluetooth stuff directly to the detector.

Thanks guys !

You're welcome 🙂

The Minelab headphones (at least the ones for the Equinox) have a reputation for being kinda cheesy. Chase Goldman recently posted a great wrap up of headphones to date that are superior or somewhat better than the ML headphones:

Check it out!

Thanks F350, trying to avoid headphones, too hot for me to wear. but I have to say, the phones that come with the 6, are the most comfortable ML phones I have tried on.

Earlier in this thread I mentioned that I had ordered an Avantree AS70 which is a small, low latency, blue tooth receiver that had a clip so it could be attached to your shirt/harness/whatever.  This new version super-ceded the Clipper Pro which was no longer easily available but the AS70 hadn't been released yet - was supposed to be released within days of me ordering.

Well Lily from Avantree sent me an email each month telling me release was delayed to the point I thought it was a scam.  Then to my surprise I got an email to say it was ready, it has shipped and it arrived yesterday.

A few pics....

As you can see it is nice and small.

Put the DD coil on the GPX6 to test it at home as the DD is as quiet as a mouse inside the house.  The 17" coil on the other hand is the opposite to quiet!

The AS70 paired easily and got the Bluetooth Connected + signal on the GPX6 to advise it is connected with Low Latency and the AS70 showed as a solid blue light - also suggesting Low Latency.

Hooked up the AS70 to both a waterproof speaker I already had and the Philips over ear, ear buds that I regularly use.  The benefit of the AS70 over the Soundpeats unit (mentioned on page 3 of this thread) that I have been using is that this has a clip and has a volume control on the side so I can adjust the AS70 audio up without turning up the GPX6 audio.

Connected to my ear phones.  Neat, tidy and light.

With the speaker on a Camel-Bak pack.  With this set-up the speaker and the AS70 have volume control.   This will probably be my preferred set-up heading into summer.

Not yet used in the field but expecting the audio to be as good a quality or better than the Soundpeats just with the added benefit of the clip and the volume adjust.

I just received mine and it does not pair with any of the headphones that I have, on the other hand with the mobile there is no problem. I have made the mistake of buying it only receiver.  I have realized late
