Back To The Spur Spot (hunt #3)

Recommended Posts

I took a short day yesterday and was able to get back to the spur spot for a three hour therapy session. Theres still lots of targets but high conductors are starting to diminish...Lots of big iron in the ground...I dug one for fun. Everything I've been finding is in a small 30 yard area when I venture away things get sparse. Any ways i'm having fun here I just wish there were more coins. I found 3 interesting things yesterday. A shoe tag/token from our Aussie brothers (thanks fellas) ...a "Heads I Win/ Tails You Loose" coin with some added character. I used to play that game with my kids when they were little lol.  My favorite though is the 1908 medallion from the "Great White Fleet" visit to San Francisco. Just love reading about these things and the people involved. This is I think now my 6th hunt with the new Deus 2. It's hasn't disappointed me.

Wow that is an awesome collection of early 1900s history! Looks like an active place like one out behind my house. I've pretty much stripped it clean but find stuff there once in a while even now. May even be a small dump for a house. 👍 Bet there are a lot of Mason Jar lids there. 😵

I dug a similar "heads I win" token from Cascarets, it's a laxative. Looks like it was nailed to something for luck 🤣

Very cool photo background, what is it you're putting your finds on?

Thanks buddy yeah theres a lot of Mason jar lids there they sound pretty good too. The background is a rock from rye patch Nevada I bring some of them back when I go up there put them in the garden etc...  This little spot has surprised me I wouldn't think I would have got such cool finds here.

😀 Lots of detectorists are like "oh, a token 🤬". Tokens can be more valuable than coins in some cases. The Cascarets' token is an 86 on Numista. Probably not very valuable but rare. I just wonder what sorta hole it plugged... 🤔
